This is not accurate. Dank and I set up a time to meet and he did not show up. I never paid for anything; he cost me time, not money. I happen to be a strong believer in time being worth far more than money, so dank really screwed the pooch by costing me time. Oh well, now he knows.I'm not going to go so far as to chase the guy around every time he places an ad. But my experience was such that I would definitely recommend that others think long and hard before dealing with dank.

My experience has now been reinforced by this exchange with manxman, so I am upping my recommendation to STAY AWAY. The guy is, at best, a waste of time, and in the grand scheme of things he doesn't deserve to waste yours.

Thanks for your clarification. You warned me to expect trouble with this member when you spotted my reply to his ad. You PM'd me with a few details about your previous sales relationship with him, and I misunderstood what you told me. I asked you for more info., and you were too busy to respond. I thought that you paid for stuff that never got delivered- apparently I was wrong. But what he did with you was wrong and dishonest, and lacking in personal character. That is the reason why I am pursuing this so strongly.

There are at least two threads currently running on these forums concerning members who paid for merchandise and did not receive what they paid for. My thread is one of them. I have learned that you cannot afford to waste any time in pursuing people who cheat you in a purchase agreement. Member macbuddy's unfortunate fraudulent purchase of Megan Coilovers from Showstoppers is the other thread. His problem will stay unreseolved until he fights to get it resolved.

dank24 agreed to refund my money if his camcorder does not work. Without the missing owner's manual, it does not work. I knew in advance that he was a risky vendor, but committed to the purchase simply because this device has many unique features that I have a specific need for. I could have bought a brand new duplicate camcorder from Amazon for $245.00 that would have included the crucial owner's manual and a warranty. Without the manual, this one is junk.

I have sold three items to other fitfreak members, with positive iTrader reviews for each sale. I wouldn't even think of selling an item here without the owner's manual or installation instructions.

dank24, unless you are in a hospital or dead, you had better fix this issue. I will screw up any future ad for a sale post that you place, and will do everything that I can to get you banned for life if you do nothing.

 

Tool just contacted me. I did not screw you over AT ALL. I listed everything that came with the camera in the FS thread. The camera works 100%, if you need help with it I will gladly assist you. As for getting your money back from paypal, it prob will not happen because you received the product and it was in working order when I sent it out. And for getting a brand new one with a warranty your looking at $380 + shipping. So yea it was cheap. Its funny, cause I even have that video I took for someone to look at before I sold it to them to show it is in working order that I offered to show you. I don't understand how something would stop working from mail.

 

Without the manual, it does not work because the manual tells you how to set up the four different types of recording media that can be used. I bought one of those types of DVD blank discs, and with one loaded, the screen shows "no disc loaded". So it does not work. You posted that you wold refund my money if it did not work. It does not work- pay the refund.

I should not have to ask you how to do anything to use this camcorder-that information should have been shipped with the camcorder, just like you received it in the first place. By not sending it, you have committed fraud in your sale. Either send me the owner's manual, or this goes to a PayPal claim on Friday.

That's it- no further discussion.

Amazon has the exact same item for sale at $245.00- you are lying. You received the owner's manual with the camcorder, and did not send it to me- you are lying.

 

Tool already pm'd you the instruction manual. I did noting fraudulent of the sort because I never said it was included in the sale. If I was selling something brand new in the box, than YES you have the grounds. Did you place a mini DVD-R into it? Because it worked when I had it. I do not have the owners manual. But I will gladly print one out for you and send it. So you do not have to waste your ink.

 

I honestly told you the manual is available online. As dank has stated he never offered any manual with the initial purpose. Just download it online, if it's true he did not state you would receive a manual in the purchase thread then he is fine and did not cheat you.

 

If you had told me that there was no manual, I would not have bought the merchandise. I would have bought a new one instead. Of course I put a DVD in it- without the instructions to make it recognize the type of DVD I used, it DOES NOT WORK. Therefor, you owe me the refund. I will press this issue with PayPal. Tomorrow. Guaranteed. And if you ever post another ad here, I will post the link to this thread.

 

Unfortunetly that Download I PMd manxman was just giving error messages. manxman was forced into purchasing a manual due to free manuals not downloading.

 

then u contact the company. if ur unsure a manual was included u should ask. as much as i hate not siding wit u he technically isnt at fault.. i mean its like a buyer beware type of shit u kno?

 

Tyler, thanks for your efforts. Kelsodeez went to several different sites and was able to find one that actually DID download, and he sent it to me by email. But by that time I had already picked up the $30.00 photocopy send by the Hitachi parts dealer. I appreciate the efforts of other fitfreaks to help. But that does not release dank24 from his own responsibilities. He did not indicate that his dale did not include this crucial manual, without which the camcorder cannot be used.

So, even though I have bought the photocopied manual, I will still press PayPal for a refund because of the fraud involved in the sale, and use the refund to buy a new identical, unused camcorder with warranty for the same price.

Merchandise that is sold on these forums should not have to involve the efforts of so many people to produce usable results. If you sell here, tell the complete truth, or suffer the consequences.

Go ahead, press whatever charges. I did not lie nor rip you off at all. I told you what came with it, had pictures of it all also. I am willing to pay for your manual if you email me a receipt of the purchase. Which I do not even think I should be obligated too since I never ever said it was coming with the camera.

I didn't think I would have had any problems since the camera is in perfect working condition. I had a picture and in the description everything that was involved. Anyway, paypal is taking care of it.

 

One more time- the camcorder is useless without the 156 page owner's manual. The four different types of mini-DVD's that can be used are printed on the body of the camcorder. I bought one of those types and loaded it. The camcorder then says "No disc loaded". IT DOES NOT WORK- DOES NOT RECORD- DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE DISC LOADED INTO IT.

You have greatly helped me to expose you for what you are- a scammer. You lie by omission, and sell with half truths. If you had stated that you would not supply the owner's manual that came with the camcorder when it was new, NO ONE would buy it from you. So you omitted that crucial piece of imformation.

Based on what you shipped, this thing does not work. This entire thread including your own description of what you did in this sale will convince PayPal to retrieve the funds that they paid you, and refund my purchase price.

And now everyone on these forums knows what to to expect from you. If you try to scam anyone else here, I will send them the link to this thread.

 

Warning To All Fitfreaks:

Don't use PayPal to buy from forum members. PayPal will only pay a claim if the merchandise is not received. If it is broken, defective, or misrepresented, tough shit. That's why Dan Kozar so freely guaranteed that it would work. He didn't intend to pay either way, and knew in advance that PayPal would not pay the buyer regardless of what he said in the forums.

I have the manual because I paid $30.00 extra to get it. Kelsodeez very kindly found some site other than Hitachi that had an active download page for the Hitachi manual that worked (Hitachi's download page does not), and emailed the download to me. Thank you sir.

As I said before, it should not take the efforts of so many people for a simple sale to benefit the buyer. At least if you buy by credit card, you have the right to dispute any purchase where the seller takes advantage through misrepresentation.

Now, if the camcorder actually is defective, I am stuck with it and will live with that fact. At least now everyone knows what to expect in dealing with Dan. Coincidentally, the dictionary definition of "dank" is "damp, cold and slimy" (like you would describe a sewer maybe). Remember that wdb also suffered a loss at Kozar's hands, but his loss was only time and gasoline, not dollars. Fortunate for him. I'll bet that you feel fortunate, don't you Dave??? I wish that wdb's warning about dank had come before I paid for the camcorder. If I have to throw this thing in the trash it won't be the end of the world, but thanks for all of the help and support.

 

Please post up the thread where I ripped of "2 people" on this thread also. I am interested to see this. I know I did not meet up with one of the guy's in this thread cause I did not hear from him until I was already on my way to philly. But please show me where I ripped off these 2 people. NOR I never ripped you off. I had everything in the description. Maybe the camera is useless to someone who is not technology acquired. Its pretty easy. Have you ever used a camcorder? Put the dvd-r disk in, go to the little "camera notch" press the red button. You are recording. To take a stills you need a memory card on the bottom that you can clearly see where is goes. For that you put the notch on the little picture that looks like a camera. Then press the red button. If you can't read american I can understand not knowing how to use the camera, but a child can figure it out. To finalize the dvd-r into dvd format you pop open the lcd view screen and press finalaize, and it actually tells you what to do too! Press meneu to read what options you can select and play around with.


If I sold you a defective camera you had my word I would refund you. But your acting like I ripped you off like a kid. Seriously, I had everything included in the description. If you could have talked civil to me I would have gladly paid for a owners manual if it meant life and death to you. It was not a brand new product, so your expecting a lot.

I guess that you just can't read. The camera does not record when the screen says "No Disc Loaded", even though there is a compatible disc loaded. I fully explained the rip-off nature of your sale to me, and I and wdb fully explained how you took advantage of him. With an owner's manual with 156 pages, this is not an "intuitive push a button and see what happens" device.

You are certainly very clever, as all scammers and con-men are. You just weren't clever enough to hide your dishonesty in this sale, so people will know exactly how you operate in the future. Lies of omission and half-truths.

I was very "civil" to you up until the time that you ignored my PM asking for the manual and avoided this thread. When you came back to the thread, you removed all doubt and fully explained the crooked nature of the sale.
