Calgary "Group Install"

Hey Guys & Gals,

The sway bars arrived today (see this thread for some pics)
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/greater-calgary-community/16345-calgary-group-buy-sway-bar-5.html

How many of you are interested in doing a group install maybe next weekend? Once we have estabilished a date that works Johnathan can give the final ok.

I defenintly owe you guys a beer (or coffee should you prefer) for sticking with the buy over the last 11 weeks!!!

Cheers!

Thanks for sticking to your guns in tracking it and dealing with the vendor!! When you mean next week, are you meaning Saturday, December 1? If it is, please let me know so that I can make arrangements. I still have class at the Uni in the morning so might bribe my hubby to drive me down in the Fit, drop me off at school while he goes to Honda West for the install part. If it's in the afternoon, let me know so I can swing by and learn too.

As for owing us the beer/coffee, I think we should be owing you for having to deal with the vendor. It's no fun dealing with them. I should know!!

I was reading all 5 pages of your 'adventure' with this front sway bar. Please post up what you think of this product!

The quality.. install.... before/after...

I hope after all the hassle, that the product itself made it more 'worthwhile'.

Initial Quality looks good, solid one piece construction, pretty much zero flex, I could put all my weight on one end and it dosn't even budge. The teflon bushings are a nice touch too, once we get these bars in I will do a review.

Cheers,

Have no time this weekend boys. Baby showers and kids Christmas parties (which I can attend instead of just coordinating)

Once these winters tires go out the door i'll be more then happy to get people in for the install.

Sounds good, just say the word and I am in. Any chance you can get some Honda OEM CV boot banding for me. I just need one boot's worth of banding.

Hey Dave, you get that bar in yet?

So are we installing this weekend or waiting till January? I'm a bit confused. I wouldn't mind waiting until January since it's already December this weekend and with the holidays coming up, it'll be tough to get everyone's schedule to sync... please let me know as I'm coming from Edmonton.... thanks!!!

so...bar is in, 3 days now, it is noticably heavier than stock, only minimally larger...

front end had to be dropped...there is no way to just unbolt and slip in..it is a 2 hour job for someone who knows what they are doing

bushing are neophrene with a nylon sleeve...very nice bushings!! great design

with winters on "60's" car was noticably rolling on hard cornering, which is expected ...

with the "new" battelendless sway bar, the car holds firm in the corners, which make me wonder how much better with the summer rubber on

front end holds the surface better over bumps...steering is firmer/heavier, which i like...steering feels quicker..these are just my observations, difficult to really try out the new set up with road conditions the way they are right now....

Yikes, that sounds like lots of work!

You will have to slap on your summers when it wams up for a few days to test things out!

Just send JDMish a pm about weekend dates that work for you in June and I'm sure he'll be able to make this install happen for you
