AutoX?
You don't have to be a member, it is 50$ for non-members to particiapte if you pre-register. As a member it is 40$ anyway.
You can register here, they havn't opended it for the one on the 17th yet though. I was thinking about the 11th, but DaveVM made a good point about it being mothers day. I am going to start planning to go on the 17th instead.

Oh yeah, I was asking about helmets and somebody suggested this website.... he said he got this helmet from there which meets the requirements laid out in the rules.

What are the requirements again? Snell and DOT?

I got my helmet from Blackfoot and they have about 300 to choose from. I got the least expensive/noob/douche looking one with an open face as I needed one for Racecity.
Mine is just simply black and was 85$

Hey Mr ET, are you interested in doing this too?
So I ended up ordering a helmet online, I went into Bow Cycle and looked around. I asked for some help & found a helmet for 199$. Was apparently the cheapest SNELL rated helmet they have. I figured hey, what the heck, despite online helmets being cheaper for the help and instant gratification I will just get it here....
...So they went into the back, got me a helmet in the size I wanted.... and then told me all of the cheap helmets were actually priced wrong. The 199$ helmet (also the one on Blackfoot direct for 143$) was actually 289$....
....
"Yep, you have to spend at least 300$ for a SNELL rated helmet" she said as I looked around at 4 or 5 other people who apparently were trying on helmets that weren't priced wrong.... only ALL the helmets I was looking at were priced incorrectly.
MEANWHILE, another guy from that SASC forum said he only paid 180$ for a SNELL rated helmet AT Bow Cycle.
Anyway, at that point I was starting to feel like they were trying to take advantage of me so I said I was going to poke around more before I committed to buying one. The experience has left me with a bitter taste, however I at least figured out which size I needed while I was there.
Anyway....
And presenting the 143$ SNELL rated helmet I bought online for local pickup

thanks, I had a choice between that and a plainer black one for the same price. AutoX is already crazy, I figured I might as well look the part
According to the rules you need a SNELL 2005 rating or better to participate in the SASC event. They won't accept DOT or the SNELL 2000 rating from what I understand.
