Tirerack

Hey guys,

anyone else from Calgary or Edmonton ever ordered from them and if so how long did it take before you had the tires in hand?

I am starting to run out of time with the racing season a month away and I am still waiting for the Kumho XS to be available locally.

I am still hearing it will only be available late April early May and that will not give me enough time to get the car prepped.

I ordered my last set, they arrived in about 2 weeks. I can't remember what the exchange was, maybe 1.2? Cost was 99$ USD per tire, landed cost after everything was 660$ CAD

I have heard it can be hit and miss sometimes with customs. Also I heard a horror story about Tirerack shipping tires in from Germany and passing along the shipping bill to the consumer for importing from Europe

I may buy them from a place called talontire.com in Quebec that was recommended by the cscc guys.

They have the tire for $146 CAD right now, I'll have to see what shipping and other fees look like. I'd like to stay under 700 if possible.

Is there any restrictions about ordering things from Quebec?

There is an online outfit in Vancouver that looks pretty good as well; I have been meaning to try them out for a while;

www.1010tires.com

They have a free shipping deal on right now, but 175$ per tire for the XS

yeah I know about them, the discount in shipping doesn't make up the difference in price.

They are quite a bit more expensive per tire

emailed 1010tires about possibly price matching and the free shipping is only on wheel and tire packages.

Still talking to Bob, we might work something out on a set of Bridgestone RE-11's that replaced the RE-01R

So boys, I'm pulling the trigger on some Bridgestone Potenza RE-11's in 205/50R15 early am tomorrow.

Let's see how these guys hold up on track
