Angry Fit Base Model tire availability

Hi,

I bought a Fit about 6 weeks ago. So far I love it, except one thing - the tires. On Saturday I found a screw which had punctured a hole in one of the tires. Now Honda is telling me that because the car is so new, they can't find any tires to replace that one. They might have to order it in from somewhere else which can take weeks.

Has anyone had a similar problem and/or know of anywhere else these tires might be available?

Thanks!

I'd just have it patched if possible. It isn't in the sidewall, is it? If not there shouldn't be a problem patching the hole. Good luck!

Yeah, a patch will do the trick until a new tire is available.

I work at a Honda dealer. We had a customer come in that had bumped a curb and punctured the tire and was non repairable. From what I heard it would take 2 weeks to get the Dunlop tire from TEXAS!

Very stupid that Honda Canada does not have any of these tires in Canada...

Do you have a base or a Sport? I might be wrong... I thought the base model had Dunlops...

Maybe I'll have to run by work and see hah

Either way it was 2 weeks for the tire.

so they gave the Dunlops to the DX and LX and the Bridgestones to the Sport? Wonder why they would go through the trouble, I would prefer the Dunlops over the Bridgestones...

I just found out something stupid today. We have to contact our tire rep and order the tire through them, in this case a Fountain Tire for Dunlop. The initial date was June 15th, for some reason it took until the 22nd to be ordered(who knows what type of conversations happened) and it showed up at my work today. Stupid reason why we can't order straight from Honda Canada.

Had a non-fixable flat on the Sport. Independent tire dealer got matching replacement tire within 24 hrs., and it was $ 25 cheaper than Honda dealer.
