Anything I posted up is for the community and it's members, I am of the strong opinion anytime sensitive issues like this come up especially regarding forum sponsors they should be be encouraging it to be discussed in an open forum. Getting to the bottom of this early on is better for whomever is really the victim here; be it AJR or J's.

 

Flame wars again & again all these years since the late 90s. Always something about some shop, doesn't have to be A&J. I guess that was one of the reason I stopped checking Honda-Tech about 6-7years ago....

If something bad happen, people just like to jump on the bandwagon & start bashing. If that's something good, no one knows about it. Like Guinness said maybe it's good for the A&J guys in some ways eh...I just googled "J's racing exhaust" and the 6th link is/was actually about all these "news". Don't u have to pay $ to stay up top on google search!? Clearly either J's racing USA or A&J don't have to pay this time

Hints 1: Its EXTREMELY good on gas and its designed to get me from Point A to Point B witin a city. While its not really designed for shopping trips to Ikea / Costco, it can fit most daily shopping items =)

Anyway, back to topic... just want to share with you guys what I think.... Don;t brand me as a Fanboy or hater... I am just trying to talk some sense to some of you guys (and maybe to myself as well). Honestly, this whole thing is getting old...

I've been catching up with this news lately and read a lot of things from all these different forums. I was even flamed at RS for driving a J's Wannabe JDM Fit (When I have no J's installed - too expensive anyway).

All I can really say is... Why didnt anyone say anything earlier? And isnt this all old stuff already?

When AJR is selling J's products, and the items are hot, everyone wants a piece of it. No one cared about badging, quality control, price... whatever.

Now that something shows up on the internet, something that is not even proven by either party, and what do we have? Flame war, everyone jumping to conclusion, blaming this and that.

I mean, come on... lets be optimistic. AJR has been around for so many years. I am sure a lot of people has deal with AJR before and their service is not all that bad, for north american standard at least. Of course, there are always time when you feel like you ain't cared for, but heck, almost all shops out there does it once in a while, and we still go back for whatever reason =.=. But lets just assume that this whole thing is just trying to shift the customer base(I like that idea), and AJR was indeed selling whatever J's giving them... are you flamers going to give AJR an apology? I don't think so....

Now what if AJR was selling fakes? Well, they did a pretty damn good job and this is probably not the first time... and no one reported them so who can take the blame? I ain't saying AJR should not be blamed IF they sell fake things (I HATE to have fake stuff on my car)... but with the internet nowadays, we shouldnt blame others if we didnt do our homework.

Be reasonable... damage has been done, money has been spent, so why not think possitively and learn from this? Maybe we all ought to do more research before buying. And on top of that, don't just jump onto the bandwagon and start venting out your frustration everywhere.

The business world is pretty much like a war zone, every company wants their competitor dead; there is no partnership, only mutual interest. Heck, why do you think Microsoft buy companies out? They can afford to skip the drama and pay lawsuits =\

PS - If there was any fake JDM thing on my car, it would be me... I ain't japanese. But I didnt buy myself from AJR anyway...

You know I did see a lot of back and forth between other members and AJR, especially around bad or wrong clutches since I have been on the bored. I usually shrugged it off as somebody getting pissy about the service or how much they spent.

You do bring a good point, the damage is done and if people have purchased fake parts then it will at least make them think twice in the future about who they deal with. On the other hand I kind of disagree about just moving on if people realized they have been taken advantage of; there has to be accountability whenever this much cash is changing hands. If people do nothing then it just encourages other businesses or groups to pull the same kinds of scams.

On a side note though I still am skeptical of either claim, if this is J's trying to damage AJR's reputation they are doing a very good job. Again, if this is the case there needs to be accountability IMO.

 

I confirmed today my J's strut bar... not a fake.

 

Like I said in another post, why would they copy a titan exhaust which is expensive to make to begin with? Why didn't they copy Fujitsubo/Feel's Twin Cam/Seeker/M&M Honda/Jun's stuff which are mostly stainless steel? Those are hot JDM brand too?........

 

I know what you mean. I did thought about that before I write, but then, you think we are going to get our money back for buying fake products? A lot of them were at special price and PM prices, not to mention cash deals... worst comes to worst, they file bankrupt for one company, change name... and thats it. Thats what I meant by damage done.

Besides, how many stores has been around for as long as AJR (other than J's and Spoon themselves?) We are going to shell our money to another store if its not for AJR anyway, so why not just pay someone who we have a more "personal" connection - at least when I go to their store, they call me by my name =\

Guinness, welcome to the Mercedes family haha. What colour Brabus smart did you get? My only disappointment with the new ones is that they are petrol powered, not diesel like the one I had. Ahhh the good ol' days of blowing black clouds of smoke in front of tailgaters thinking my smart was slow hahahaha...remapped smarts are so much quicker than the stock ones




Back on topic, I'm gonna keep myself out of this one and let it play out itself. To me, it just seems like a business partnership gone sour.
