Oh nothing much, just trying to see how well the Fit can go offroad.
In all seriousness, I hit the one patch of ice in all of Burnaby (boundary/Myrtle).
Lack of experience mostly. I think I'm OK, but my wallet disagrees with me.

black cars look good, but are a pain to keep clean. But hey, everyone's got to own at least one black car in their lives, and it's usually earlier than later. Don't have time to keep the car ultra clean all the time like I did with my Audi.

Just an update: ICBC has estimated 11k worth of damage.... and with no used parts, it's all going to be brand new.
AK Autoworks (great guys) have the car, and they just called saying they're adding 2 pages worth of damage to the already 2-page long list of damaged parts.
Might be totalled... we shall see.

I know the exact corner, travel it every weekend. It's wicked! Used to be a great little street to practise slaloming between the potholes, until they re-paved it lol.
Seriously, I hope you and your Fit are back on the road soon

Total damage is sitting at around 14k, still not totalled. Guess I needed to pop a few more airbags. Radiator bracket is out of stock, need to wait for it to be shipped.
Driving a loaner Corolla right now... and I think I'm getting much better mileage with the same driving style. Like a freaking grandma.

How do you keep your cars so shiny?...
Hi,
Did you guys get that protective undercoating and top-coat that they try to sell you at the Dealership? If not, then how does your car remain so shiny? Also, I'm sure on my old '89 Civic HB, that the mirrors and windows didn't show dried up rain that much (that car had the pre-treatment from the dealer). Any ideas?

Undercoating is just a rubberized spray applied to the bottom of the car (can of it cost like 20 bucks) and top coating is just something that goes on top of wax. So its something that is definately not needed.
You can keep your car shiny if you wash and wax regularly (be sure not to wax a new car for a couple months to allow the paint a chance to set)
