HID suggestions
HID suggestions
Hey guys,
Just wanna what HID's you guys have? Any suggestions for brands, places to get them (ebay?) and installation? Looking for something preferably under $150 before installation.
I'm driving the 08 base model and was thinking about fog lights. Would you guys recommend HID > fog lights or fog lights > HID?
Thanks!

no HIDS for the fogs is aight, but if u do go with the 6000k white
i would put yellow fogs, but thats just my personal opinion
I dont think thats what hes talking about but... ok
personally i think HID's help more... .. when i put my fogs in back in the day.. i honestly didnt think it really helped much..
I have SSM w/ 6000k HIDs
I haven't recieved any complaints from on coming drivers nor cops yet (*touch wood*)
Like sumo said, HID headlights would help more than halogen stock headlights + fogs
just my 2 cents

It seems as if 6000k is the most popular amongst you other fitfreaks! Thanks for the input! Any recommendations for brands?
You can do a 6000K Hi/Lo Bixenon conversion, and i think i can hook u up around the price u want. You can PM me for more details
I will go 6000K cos its white enough be stylish, yet bright enough to see the road... anything higher will get attention from cops AND reduce brightness. FYI best brightness is 4300K (K as in temp color)
Now as for HID on a reflector housing, so long u re-adjust the light aims on the road, then you are fine. Reason a lot of people are getting a lot of glare or getting "hi-beamed" by oncoming traffic is because they didnt realise that HID produce a LOT more light than stock HALOs. Leaving the headlights adjustments at stock means ur light shines STRAIGHT to oncoming traffic.
Hope this helps u to decide what to get. BTW I use 6000K.
FOGs, just get Yellow JDM Bulbs from Parker, 20ish a pair.

To be honest with you, for 150, whatever u get is made in China... I aint even gonna lie to you. You want Philips, sure they can do Philips for 150 bucks, its just a sticker on the ballast that says Philip / Hella / whatever...
At the end of the day, you want to get something local, thats all taht matters. AS long its local, anything happens.. u have someone to get back to.
I have a RLF who is a HID distributor - he sells to shops and garages which retails them for an arm and a leg (if not both). If u need help, let me know - but I see we have some fellow FF have some HID kits lying around already =)
