Who does mechanical work for you

Just wondering who does the mechanical work/installation for you
FitFreaks?

I have Garage Five work on my W204 C350, Honda Element SC and Toy Yaris RS. Pleased to say that I am happy with the quality of their work.

What are your experiences; good and bad? TIA.

used to be keep labs, they were the best in town with custom work, i've have many experiences when i would walk in with a part that i ordered wrong or doesn't fit, but they would custom it and make it work, where as other shops would tell u to order a new part from them......i LOVE how Paulo and Gerard, both of them have the brain to figure things out......too bad they went out of business

i really hate most tuning shops have "sea food" pricing, a buddy of a buddy can walk in and get a different price then a buddy of a buddy's buddy

SAVE ON AUTOBODY -----body work
Takeda Enterprises (TEC) ----- some mechanical work
Tuning ------ keep labs Paulo

a shop that only does bolt on work, is not really my kind of shop as you can see on my cars....nothing really is bolt on...

I do some stuff on my own like springs & exhuast; but when it comes to big installs of any kind I go directly to local FF memebers MR_ET & JDMish

AJR did my (first) Manifold, E-manage Setup & tuning.... as well as install a J's strut bar (what? I saw it on the shelf while I was there and was all like "Can I have that too!") lol

haha... seafood price. makes sense tho if you think about it.

most automotive work is charged by the hour. example: I can properly do a clean HID install on a GD or GE in 30 minutes, $50 flat rate. Don't think this is reasonable? find some dude on the street and pay him $8 bucks an hour.

As long as in the end, the installation was done up to your standard and you think it is good value to you, that's all that matters. Oh, and make sure they don't F*** up your car.

Some dude offering dirt cheap to install a turbo for you and it's their first time installing? er... you get the idea.

for mechanical work I go to a tiny shop called Kaohsiung behind the badminton place and ICBC in Richmond. it's a 1 man shop ran by a Taiwanese couple, the husband does all the work.

Hey come on man, dun put me on the table. Benzta is a creditable shop and they did a lot of work. A lot of the guys on the forum in GVRD went for their shop as well, so really, If you dun like them, no need to dis them OK?

Beng is just asking for "who or where", he didnt ask about opinions. Theres so much competition out there, if u dun like one shop, find another one.

Be nice - what comes around goes around.

Agree totally. You pay more for experience work... pay cheap and at the end, u have to go back and do everything all over again - waste of time.

Not to mention if any dmg is done, thats another bill right there=\
