need help!

Any local FIT expert can help me do a simple job?
I don't know this is simple or not.....
to replace (swap out) only the passenger side seat.
I will pay for your time
or provide a Future Shop gift card or something like that.

I bought a brand new OEM passenger seat, same color, texture style,
because my seat fabric is damaged
just take out the current seat
and put the new one in
does this mean to swap?

Check out the connections yourself before you pay someone. This is probably very easy to do. I don't know that for sure, but usually the tough part about a seat is either:

1) There are electrical connections to worry about
2) The seat is very heavy
3) You are putting in a different type of seat and the mounting poitns don't match.

But none of these is true in this case so it should be easy

thanks
I rather pay someone to do the work if its 1 hour
than
figure out myself if it takes a day or more

unless there is a DIY somewhere
but someone said there is an airbag involve, I am not sure.

anyone does this before please give me some directions

That is true I forgot about the airbag. I still think it's simple. But given that I forgot about that, maybe you ought to ignore my advice .... anyone else want to speak up?

Ok are you just replacing the fabric portion or the entire frame, cusion (foam) and cover (fabric). Is it just the bottom portion, back portion or the entire thing?

the air bag light will come on if your new seat has a different airbag in it
you could just change the fabric and use the same seat
or pull the air bag off the old seat and put it into the new one

what if you disconnect the battery first? does the light come on from removing the first seat or detecting a different one?

so I assume that once the seat is removed, you will get the error
in the computer,
even you install the new seat the error remains.
I meant put everything back the way it was before, the light still turns on
am I correct?

I am aware that you could disconnect the battery but when you reconnect
it will ask for a radio code... but then, do I still have to deal with the air bag light?

sounds like there is no easy way
I hope going to dealership for the reset won't cost more than $100.
any idea?

srs systems are separate from the OBD so yes, you would need to go to the dealer or another shop to have it reset, or buy a specialty tool if one is made for the fit (or probably most hondas of a certain age range)

ok thanks
I guess it concludes the research work for me
to avoid headaches and hassels.
its best go to the dealership and pay them to have the seat change
and they can reset the light for me.

it was very easy to do
my friend did it for me.
the trick is you have to disconnect the battery
leave it for an hour
then remove the seat.
change the cover
put everything back
connect the battery
make sure you have your radio code and enter it.
FIXED!!
