JDM vrs. USDM

What's the difference between the two? Is USDM fits made in the U.S. or something; and JDM fits made in only JAPAN? I'm always a little confused because my car was shipped from japan when I bought it. And need to know if buying jdm parts will work on my 2007 honda fit.

jdm means japanese domestic market. that's how the cars are made for the japanese market.

USDM is for the US, or OEM (original equipment manufacturer). both mean for the US market. even if it was made in japan, it could be for the American market.

there are a lot of differences between the USDM and JDM models. that's why JDM parts are test-fitted to make sure that they fit the USDM versions. there's also a different gauge cluster (km/h vs. mph), different measurements and fitment for parts such as underbraces and exhausts, coilovers and suspension, bumpers and bumper supports, center console, HVAC/radio controls, coin holder, hazard switches, interior visors, and im sure a lot of other things (big and little).

So if I wanted to use JDM tail light, then I would need to use a JDM bumper?

no, you can use the US bumper, but the wire harness in the trunk is a little short, so you gotta pull the wires or extend them, theres a few threads on that already
