I know there aren't that many FITs in the state yet but we could always plan ahead.

 

Soon as the Superferry is operational, count me in.

 

I read a story that maybe in late 2007 the Superferry would run to Maui and Kauai and a year later to the Big Island.

Heck if the ferry does materialize we would likely be coming to you as well bringing a swarm of MINIs.

Think your island can handle it????

Maybe the FITs could make a group trip to cruise?

Bring em up to Kauai... I'll show you the road up to Kokee, which happens to be my daily commute for the last 30 years. 13 miles, each way, of winding, curvy mountain roads.

Perfect for the FIT or the MINI. Bring them both.

That would be like the Dragon run the MINIs do on the mainland in the summer except it can be the
"Kauai Dragon event"!

Yep, great road, cept the tourists get in the way during the day... night time is fun as the road is almost desolate. Uphill is all about horsepower, downhill about handling and brakes... great road to test any car! Think Tantalus w/o everyone competing for space.

Was looking forward to seeing you at the autocross but it doesn't look good for you.

Maybe a few others with FITs on Oahu can come by to spy on us going round and round.

Do any of you take your FITs to the Hawaiian Cruise Nights like at Wendy's in Kapolei??

In a few days I'm headed to San Antonio TX for a business trip, be back on Feb 6. Next trip Feb 8.

 

I'll be over for a cruise if the damn SF ever decides to resume Kauai service!! What's up with that!!??

I think Maui has got regular service (630am from Honolulu) and I know some people that have done it and like it.

Kauai got left out. Protestors got their way.

Still planning to autocross (practice) the Fit on Feb 16. If I like it then do it for real on Feb 17.

 

Anyone want to meet up for Fit autocross cruise?

I will be at Aloha Stadium lower parking lot all day for autocross practice- test and tune day.

You still have time to sign up. $40 for the day with instructors, $15 for weekend SCCA license good for the next day's autocross event ($25 for sunday's event).

If you show up with your Fit and wear shoes I can get you in to the grid and pit area for a close up look and ride along after lunch. Better than a cruise at street speed limits!

For autocross there is no speed limit, just don't crash into anything harder than a traffic cone and all is good. Saturday is a practice day so mistakes are fine. If you want to drive your Fit you don't need to do anything to it, just drive it as is and get some instruction. It's like a car rally course about 0.3 miles long takes about 35-45 seconds and you are timed.

Instructors are experienced autocross and track drivers that are the best in their respective classes the last few years or more.

If you are not a driver you have to leave your car on the outer parking area but if you are a driver you can sign up before the event and bring your car in to the pit area and grid area. You can ride with others and you can get an instructor to drive your car to see what it's like to go FAST!

 

Anyone coming out to Aloha Stadium lower parking lot tomorrow to watch or meet at the autocross test and tune day? Just let me know so I can get you in to the pit and grid areas. Ask for Brad.
