personally, i think if you're lookin into places near the strip there's restaurants if you go further down on i think tropicana or flamingo...there are two places i think that are pretty good, bucca de bepo and bahama breeze...

if you're on the strip i'd say either dicks last resort at excalibur, rainforest cafe at mgm, and i think there are some good restaurants like cheesecake factory over at caesars palace...but yeah..

Those are all great I've been to most of it. I want local hangout, diner food. Places where only locals would know about.

PT's

PT's pubs are pretty sweet . I lived in vegas 4 a while(wifes from there) there is a few good mex food places but r up north of the strip. Plus Vegas is so mainstream with everything there isn't too many local places left they've all been taken over.

Great italian food on Jones & Flamingo, Nora's Italian Cuisine. Great authentic food at reasonable prices.

Across the street is actually a place I go to alot Thai BBQ.

If you're feeling like driving off the strip..(Eastern & 215) Grimaldi's pizza is one of my favorite restaraunts in vegas.
