Hello Hello everybody!
Just looked through the thread and I want to apologize to those who've had a frustrating time. I can certaintly understand everybody's concern and i'll be better at fulfilling your needs next time around.
I do take personal responsibility for anything that i've lacked, but I, with no ego don't feel right in saying that the reason why things got held up were because of me.
Parts are backordered, therefore pushes back when you'll receive your console, that's what held us back, nothing else. At that point all I could do is let my customers know what's going on and that's what I did. And never did I refuse a refund.
I respectfully request from our mods that this thread be locked so we can move on with our merry ways

Hey, I just got back in from installing everything, but I do want to say that although things didn't go according to plan, Brian was never more than a phone call away and was very accommodating with any questions I might have had.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I was going to post this in public but changed my mind. No need to stir up the troops, I thought.
Now I see that you want to lock this thread. That sucks, especially seeing as there are people who have not received either console or tracking number from you. So I'm going with my first thought and making this public.
Brian, the shipping delays were not your fault and I have not seen anyone seriously try to blame you for that part of whole process. I more or less expected that portion of things to go as they did; importing stuff isn't simple.
What you failed to do was to provide information and maintain contact with a few dozen people who had sent you almost $300 apiece. Weekly updates, even if there was nothing to say other than "still waiting!" would have been reassuring. And given the longish wait for the goods to get to you, sending out tracking numbers is the least you could have done IMO. Those two things all by themselves probably would have assuaged nearly all of the hard feelings.
As for being a phone call away -- I left VM, no call was returned (although a subsequent email was answered a day later). And here's the real problem with a phone call -- it only works for one person at a time. This wasn't an individual buy, it was a group buy. And it wasn't a bunch of your local friends and acquaintances, it was people all across North America.
Group communications should have been used whenever possible. Not to mention that I, the customer, should never have to be the one constantly initiating contact and bugging you -- up to the verge of threats -- just to get a reply. That's no way to treat a customer, especially one who has prepaid.
Good luck to you Brian. Hopefully next time you will have a bit more respect for the feelings and concerns of those of us who trusted you with our money, if you ever decide to tackle something like this again.

Perfectly stated. This thread would be a good reference for any vendor considering the offer of a group buy. Study this as a good lesson, and you'll stay out of trouble.
It's funny how the only abuse posted in this thread was posted by guyatwork37, against forum rules, posted against buyers with legitimate concerns, and who just drove over and picked up his purchase.
Yo, littlebigman, when you make a fool of yourself, take a lesson from TOOL- erase the evidence. Then, it never happened.

Took me about 30 min to install mine. I have a small install tip.
The old one has 4 strips of insulation to dampen noise. I took a serated knife and removed them (by slicing close to the console) and then glued the other un-cut side using contact glue to the new console in the same area. That was not mentioned any place, but I think it's worth the effort.
Also they give you a new 12V power plastic plug and they show taking the metal part out of the plistic plug. You don't need to do that. Just keep in one piece and slide it in the new console. It's not hard to pry the old one out without any damage to the two plastic clips.
good luck!
Just for the record mine took 17 weeks after paying for it till it was in my hands. If I had any hint that would of been the case I would of purchased someplace that had it in stock and gladley paid more. I'd sugest you ask the seller on the next GB of anything, if they know how long it will take to get to you and if there is any sign of cluelessness and you need it, just pass.

My console arrived 15 minutes ago. For EXWRX, CuTeBoi, and any other SF Bay Area buyers, it was shipped on 10/15. Not 10/6 as azncarbos posted, and not 10/10 as the people in the East posted who received theirs. So, yours should arrive today also, but no guarantees.
A reminder about installation instructions- go to Genuine Honda Accessories at Discount Prices - Honda Product Information, Videos and News. In the Fit accessories section, go to the import accessories page and find the installation instructions on the JDM Console page. You can print the pdf file, and/or watch their install video.
The mounting screws for the arm rest/lid are easy to miss. If yours turn up missing, get two button head #8 X 1" long Phillips drive SHEET METAL screws at your hardware store.

Sorry people, unintentional misinformation from me in the last post.
College Hills Honda has changed their site, and I can't find the install instructions anymore. If someone else can find the pdf file, please post a link for others. Thanks.
