Question NYC All-Weather Tires Question

Hey everyone!

I am a somewhat new owner (July 2022) of a 2019 Fit LX in NYC.

Was wondering about this question, specifically geared toward people living here in NYC.

As someone who originally comes from a country where season/weather-specific driving is not an issue, I don't know much about seasonal tires. What would be the recommendation for fall and winter in and around NYC? Keep the OG tires that came with the car, and get new all-weather tires? Winter/Snow tires? I'm a bit overwhelmed with this "issue", so any suggestion/help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you get snow and ice where you are, and don't want to constantly swap out wheels/tires, then I would recommend All Weather Tires.

Otherwise a dedicated set of All Seasons/Summer Tires and another set of Winter Tires is what some of us Canadians do.

What tires came with your car? Pretty sure that the ones on my 2016 EX (and 2010 Sport) were all-seasons.

If you plan to drive where there is snow (like NYC) then all-season tires are recommended. Or snow tires, but then you'd be switching tires or wheels twice a year.

You wont need snow tires if you live INSIDE New York City or Westchester or Nassau counties. A good set of all seasons is de rigueur.
