CA Greenhouse Gas Emissions by Source 2017

Even with all of California's policies on cleaner fuels, increases in driving are increasing emissions.

That’s a great chart, and it helps illustrate that some places - like ca - claim to be all eco but then they spend 3 hours a day in a car. Kind of similar to people who move to the vt woods for a “simpler more natural life”, look down on the rest of the polluting country... but then use 4x the energy heating their homes as a nyc apartment dweller does, and driving 35 miles to work in a ford pickup.

It also shows - if ca wants to make a dent - stop talking about plastic straws and face the reality of driving less.

How much of that pie is Uber ...

Not sure on percentage wise, but it looks like SF may be putting a tax on ride share companies - It’s Time for an Uber Tax!

I mean it all depends on per capita carbon footprint. Those percentages don't mean much without context. We should all drive less, not just Californians.

If only we had some way or something to help us avoid those 46% of short 2-3 mile trips, hmmmmm...............

Seen where California emissions are up due to more large vehicles ( C.U.V.s' , P.Us' , etc. ) being sold . Nothing like " Putting Out FIRE with Gasoline " .

I saw something recently saying all the fuel economy gains by cars have been balanced out by the increased spread of crossover/SUV garbage.

EPA states that we have been increasing our use through the ages - https://www.epa.gov/ghgemissions/sou...-gas-emissions
