Blocking the roadway is illegal. It it not 'protest' under any legal definition. Once your 'protest' obstructs or interferes with the common rights of others, it ceases to be a 'protest'.

Much like every other inalienable right, person A's rights end where person B's rights begin.

Peaceful protest is a right guaranteed in this country. Impinging on the rights of others is, by definition, not peaceful. There exists no rational argument to the contrary. (I'd love to be proven wrong on that last point. Hasn't happened yet...)
