Ugg - Accident, need body shop tips.
So my car is less than a weak old and someone has already hit me. A guy clipped my rear bumper in stop-and-go traffic on the freeway this morning. Damage doesn't look too bad, I heard him clip me, but couldn't feel the impact, so I doubt there was any structural damage. Anyone have any tips for dealing with this? Is it possible to get a new factory painted bumper? Progressive is stearing me towards their in-network body shops. Are they as good as anyone else?
Any suggestions much appreciated.

Probably.
They will most likely replace the bumper. I wouldn't worry too much about it, progressive is probably recommending places that they can guarantee the work. And with such a small job, shouldn't be a big deal.
The shop will want to replace as much as possible and since your insurance is covering it, they will probably try to find as much damage as possible. Let them, your not paying for it.
Good Luck

if its just your bumper, you might as well buy it from hondaautomotiveparts.com and replace it yourself. no sense in dealing with insurance for such a minor repair. the bumper is $192.25 and the rear lip spoiler is $183.62(if you need this replaced as well) and they are already painted to match your car. having a repair shot repaint your bumper probably cost more than just getting a new one. you could reuse all the clips and screws. just download the Honda Fit Manual on the forum.

WhatFreshHell - Just looked at your pics. Wow that was pretty ugly. Much uglier than mine.
yeah. it sucked.
I would just go through insurance, just to avoid all the hassle of trying to recoup the money from the other dude. Since he hit you, you shouldn't have to pay a deductible (unless for some reason the laws are different where you are). And you can set it up so your insurance company pays everything directly so you don't have to worry about anything.
