Terry Gilliam's adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson's book is a hallucinatory trip to Las Vegas, focusing on Thompson alter ego Raoul Duke (Johnny Depp), who is sent to Vegas to cover the Mint 400 desert motorcycle race. He goes to Nevada with his Samoan attorney (Benicio Del Toro), and the two proceed to consume suitcases full of drugs, trash hotel rooms, and wreak general havoc.
