I just found out that Estelle Getty, the actress that played the wise-cracking Sophia Petrillo on The Golden Girls, has died today at the age of 84.

I was young when the show came out, but I loved the show. It was a funny show and Estelle did an excellent job playing the part of Sophia. She will be missed.

 

I agree- really a good actress. When the show was on, she was playing the role of someone in her 80's.
