okay i order my g1 ahead of time so i got it on the 21 instead of the 22 with everyone else (i am cool) so i charged it to full and it onlylasted for 3 hours stand by time and died with the battery at 59% life left. and then it kept resting it self over and over so i call and turns out i am the first one to call with the problem , send it in on the 22 and now i am phone less till monday, any one alse have the g1 goods and bads would help for future buys

 

That sucks to hear. I was thinking about the G1 instead of the iPhone until I saw the side by side comparison. The scrolling and features isn't anywhere near as nice as the iPhone. Good try by google though. Oh well, I don't have money for either, so I'm still rocking a Sony Ericsson.

 

i got mine a week and a half ago. i haven't had an issue yet..you might have a defective battery or phone. try calling customer care and see what they can do for you. the battery life does suck though but its a nice phone nonetheless.

yeah there sending me a new one since its so new, at my job there is a guy with an i phone and they all knew i was getting the g1 so they started up a tally board to keep score on what is better, so far the score is 3-2 iphone up (customer service was the tie breaker) but where still going once i get my phone back

 

I actually like this the G1 over the iphone....one reason the 3g network is so much better the at&t 3g network!!!! it actually 3g !!! hahaha then the second reason I like the g1 is it give you the freedom to created a phone for you rather be conform with lock program Android FTW!!!! The third reason is it has a Real full QWERTY keyboard!!!!

 

the keyboard is so great on it, you can blind text cuz you can feel the buttons, i love the phone dont get me wrong but apple does have better customer service

my buddy has the G1. I gotta say i like it. but i dont know doesnt seem to be as good as the iphone. might be more comparable to the Dare from Verizon.

this is the only for to compare to the iphone, the dare is just some one trying to get a bite off the apple, the g1 is trying to steal it

yeah i payed 312 for it, they offered a temp phone just because i bitched but it was going to be an old phone, so whats the point, just use my old one for a couple of more days... i wanted them to overnight the phone and hey said they couldn't but they do business with ups and they offer over night but that's all over, glad i don't have to call customer service for a while (i always get the ones on there bad days i think), and i got the invisible shield thing from zagg.... hard as hell to put on right , and it kind of makes the touch screen lack a little and hard to run your finger over if your slow scrollling

 

I can get it for that $180 dealio... after I reach my 22 months. 22 months of what; couldnt tell ya?
After that its $180. Right now its similar to what you spent. Im not spending that much on a phone because I "want" it.
