^^ oh man.. don't even get me started with that one LoL. in high school, i was a stuck up douche-bag, hung out with the wrong crowd, and ruined a lot of scholarship/grant opportunities because i wasn't ready to grow up [/sigh]

I met Harlan Ellison once (famous sci-fi writer). He was really funny and nice. I also met the Newsboys and got their autographs last year.
did you hate vegetable when you were a kid?

when i was ready (20 yrs old), i grew up all at the same time. got a job, went to college, financed my education, moved out of my parents' house, and paid for rent/bills all on my own. it was hard but worth the experience; my pride kept me from accepting a hand-out from my parents when things got difficult too LoL

I liked being an adult in college but I will say it was hard to relate to some of my classmates....One benefit was being wide awake for the 8 a.m. classes, which were always a LOT less crowded than the ones past 11 a.m.
I got some financial aid but not from my dad. I mostly worked my way through.
I still wonder what my life would have turned out like if I'd known I was up for a full-ride scholarship...but I don't know that I'd trade my life for that one, even so...I'd probably have been some dried-up, miserable academic working away on her 95th book that no one would have read...

my best friend is the same age as me and lives near me, and is only person in world i really trust, and he drives a minivan (i <3 minivans), funny thing is we're like total opposites around new people but when we hang out we're exactly the same person almost, wierd.....

Recently I recorded my co-workers desk phone ring on my cell. Then I play it while he is in earshot, he runs over in a panic only to "miss" the call cursing and swearing and can't figure out why it does not show up on the call-display... all co-workers within the local cubical area snicker and laugh.

I worked right out of HS, and then when I was 25, started taking college courses at night, one at a time. It took me 10 years to finish a 4-year degree, but a lot of life happened in between, including marriage, the birth of our first child, and the start of our 2nd child.
