I see people have experience points, and I've read the section on how you can get points by posting or reading posts or being the last comment etc. But how do you lose points? I see some days I've lost points. Do people vote on answers or something? What's the formula for negative points?

 

Look at the bar on the top of the page where the "experience" button is located click it and look around.

 

Sorry if I'm being dense or something. I checked it out, but there is no description of "how to get an infraction". I see the formula for it... but not a reason.
Is an infraction from using the "report post" button or a "disapprove post" rating on the scales button?

I am really not sure how it works either I get a few experience points then I loss a few.

 

Has to do with the alignment of the planets, your zodiac sign, Feng shui, etc... Here's a thread that discusses it.
