Drifting is addicting, both in Forza and real life. lol

Does FM4 show your best drifting score per lap at the end of the race? If so... anyone down for a few drifting battles?

I haven't played FM4 in a while and this is one of the courses that I actually suck at. Was using a JDM Spec DC2-R and could only crack a 2:02.8xx in it earlier today. :/ I wish the Alpine Ring (I think that's it) and Tokyo circuits from FM1 were on here. Those were some fun tracks... The autocross courses were bad ass as well on FM1 too.
Was the DC2 stock? or maxed out at 600...I also tried a DC2 rather than my DC5 thinking the DWB suspension would shave some time off but it didn't at all...both cars were very similarly modded and maxed at 600.

omg. I was never very good at this track but damn am I sucking it up. I am going to blame F1 2012. After racing this track with a F1 car I feel slow as hell and all my breaking point are wrong.

I played with the setup on my CTS-V, and shaved another second off. Just trying to find that fine line between stable under braking, and accelerating out of the turns quickly. I seem to do better with "loose" setups.

I don't remember ever playing this course actually. We mostly play online, so I'm not very far in career mode.

I don't really points drift, and I'm pretty sucky at drifting haha

I'm weird, I'm fastest with a car that's largely neutral but understeers at the limit, it forces me to work harder.

If memory serves me right it was making 325 hp, gutted, caged, 4.76 gears, 225s (or maybe 215s, its been a bit since I built it) on front, 215s in rear (both slicks of course). I just had a nice setup for it and tried my best to hit my braking points and apexes... Plus driving an actual DC2 ITR in real life kinda helped give me an idea on about how the car reacts at speed.

With cars that have a lot of low end torque like the CTS-V or my Hemi 'Cuda (575 ft lbs), I've recently noticed that it sometimes helps to leave the car one gear higher than usual and use the car's available torque to go through the turn rather than staying in the lower gear and risk either running out of RPMs during the turn.

The pros of this is in a torquey car you won't have to worry about having upshift at the exit of the turn and you shouldn't lose too much speed doing this in the process. The cons of this is that its MUCH easier to break a tire loose doing this in certain corners.

Setting up for turn 10 with my 'Cuda, I'm usually braking just before or right at the flag man's building on the left of the track. Downshifting from 5th aaaalllllll the way down to 1st... then pop back into 2nd as I dive in and hit the late apex. Its pretty hard to get that Mopar to hit that apex at times... Live (solid) rear axles and wheel hop DO NOT get along on sport tires even with 305s in the rear. haha

Back to this weird "tip", this can easily be done on turns 3 and 10 of Catalunya with my 'Cuda... not so much in turn 12 due to the slight "yump" at the exit of it which results in the car either kicking sideways or me over compensating in preparation and going into the wall.

Dude, I'm an absolute drift nut and most of the cars I've built are set up just for it. The Tomcat (autocross course) on FM1 was basically my "shake down" course for drift cars... At times I had cars that made me motion sick just sliding through the very first S section on that course.

I'm kinda similar though whenever I get a hint of understeer, I just clutch kick once or twice and be ok. What's weird is that all of my pro touring inspired muscle cars like the '69 and '70 Camaro Z/28s, '69 Charger, '71 Hemi 'Cuda, '70 Javelin, etc. all understeer near their limit but as soon as I kick the rear out they're SOO nimble and neutral feeling again.

I'm too poor for a proper wheel setup so I stick to controller.

Same here...however I think my button layout may be hindering me. Do you use the default setting with the gas and brake being the triggers? For some reason (I think because FM2 was set up this way) I could never get used to that, and use A as gas, X as brake and the triggers upshift/downshift. I can't really feather the brake or gas so I have to go all rapidfire on the buttons to recreate the effect.

I use a controller. I use to have a real nice fanatic racing wheel. ended up selling it for $300 because I could never commit to the wheel and now I wish I dint sell it.

I'm using a worn out and sticking controller.

Would have bought a new racing wheel with 6 speed shift and clutch pedals but my folks threw out the old setup. -.-

FUN FACT: If you drop a tire/get a penalty in the green section on this course... your next lap will also be penalized. Which makes absolutely no sense to me what so ever.

And two more times to post up. Scratch your heads at these...

JDM Spec DC2-R with 215s front & rear.

Same ITR, 225s up front and minor revisions. Still has potential to break the 2 minute barrier if I don't keep making minor screw ups.

Yeah, it sucks. The end is the most technical section of the course and the place that you have to be GNATS ASS PERFECT or you'll lose two (or more) laps for a simple mistake. :/

@TP: Aww yeah.

I've been wanting to post a better time up, but for some reason I've decided to have a life at this inopportune time.
