I won't buy any Snap-On products because I bought a power washer with their name on it. The brand name is the main reason I chose that particular model. When it broke I contacted the company and they said they have nothing to do with it- they licensed their name and I have to get in touch with whoever actually made it. So screw them, I can't trust anything with their brand name anymore.

Give me a break. If you bought some under $200 "Snap-On" power washer, $10 flash light or similar item from a big box store and really thought it was going to be same "Snap-on" quality of a wrench that someone paid $150 off the truck? If you ever bought something off the truck, you would have known it was just some licensed piece of junk. No different than a Rigid pipe threading machine vs a shop vac.

Give me a break indeed- I know that stuff breaks. I don't expect a $10 tool to be as good as a $50 tool, regardless of brand name. What I don't expect is that when I call up the company whose name is on the tool, their reaction is "It's not us, go to hell."

Re: HF

I always go for their freebies! I'm patiently waiting for those magnetic strips to mount on the wall to be offered again. Their quality is up and down on stuff there, but it's a good store to have around.

Fortunately I got alot of my tools when Sears was rocking with Craftman. They were good at discounting stuff that is missing something in it and discontinued items. Even complete tool sets (Made in USA) were a pretty good deal.

Those are very handy to have around. I probably have atleast 15 of them. On the walls and in the toolbox.

Yes really depends on what you are buying. Floor jacks, jack stands, hammers, some air tools, welding stuff are great for the price and work great for the DIYer. Screwdrivers are junk, electrical tools are not that great. Specialty tools are hit and miss.
