Don't understand why so many people do it? Is it it ignorance of how to operate your lights? Or is it "more lights = better for me"? How come the same people don't always drive with their bright lights always on? That's why I think people do it simply because there is no "law" against it.

And I also hate manufacturers for offering this totally useless feature that is used incorrectly 99.99% of the time!

Fog lights are aimed from the factory to scatter light at a low level. They should not affect other drivers in the least.

They make seeing the edges of the road (to watch for wildlife or pedestrians) much better.

Maybe they should change the name to "low side lights" so that you don't think they are only meant to be used in foggy conditions.

What... If you turn on your high beams, your OEM fog lights go off... They couldn't possibly be the same person. You might be talking about "aftermarket lighting", in that case yes other drivers can aim their 3000k HID Fogs & 5000k HID High Beams right into your retinas.

And yes, I am ignorant because I use my fogs.

if i had fog lights, i'd leave them on too.. how else would people know they're there if they're not on all the time... :P

my previous cars all had foglights.. the rare times i'd find my self in fog they proved absolutely worthless. they're just a stylistic choice really.

I drive with mine on all the time. I swapped them with Katana LEDs and I love them. I swapped out the headlight too with Katana LEDs as well.

That is not my understanding of how fog lights work. They are not to watch for "wildlife or pedstrians". They barely illuminate a few feet in front of you. By the time you see something and hit the brakes you would have already hit it.

There's no law against being a rude and inconsiderate driver either.

Why stop at 4 lights? Go ahead and put on a dozen more lights if more lights seems to give you some thrill.

Not mine. I replaced the housings with 1000 watt spot lights. Really makes it easy to see the look on the faces of blinded drivers as I pass by. :D

It's not rude. I would rather be seen and safe. Than not at all.

Hence why it's perfectly legal.

The fog lights functions more as an indicator lights to let others know you're coming their way

Ummm... yeah... mine aren't blinding anyone. Headlights that blind people need to be aimed properly. Low beams should only illuminate about 100 feet ahead, my fog lights only illuminate about 10 feet ahead which is useful for spotting potholes or hazards on the road at night.

I'm super impressed with the pattern my lights make on the road. They remind me of my 2020 Kia Soul with factory LED headlights and fog lights. They have a defined cut off about 100 feet ahead as well. My Fit lights match them almost exactly.

Your ranting is misdirected. Direct it at people with misaligned headlights. Not foglights. Foglights aren't blinding anyone unless they are on a jacked up pickup or something.

Not even an argument worth having.
Also, no, I'm not gonna turn my foglights off.

I'm going to Walmart to get a 1inch hole bit, drilling out the front fake plastic vents in 2 places on each side, and installing walmart LED strips.. I'm going to wire them directly to an aux 12v fr the fuse panel so they're always on if the car is on.. I will be the king of lighting the fog!

I turn my fogs on for visibility to other drivers since the FIT is lower than all the SUV's and taller vehicles where I drive.
