i would have hated life and everything around it if i was in a yaris...i sat in one and drive one NOOOOOOOOOO comparison to the Fit. I am glad that my father opened his mouth about the Fit cause i would have been in the yaris...the center gauges ewwww gross, not my steez also the interior is just to cheap looking...both the Fit and yaris are econo cars, but the Fit just has the better stuff for the price that you pay...us fitfreaks here are all happy with both sport and non-sport models of the Fit and they both kick the yaris in the a$$. I love my car and i am happy that the aftermarket support for this car is close to be unlimited:D

WAIT FOR IT!!!!!:D

I'd said wait for it.

But if you must buy now, then check the civic si, or the mazda3 ( specially if you'll autox). if not, then wait or buy the automatic.

Thanks everyone for telling me to wait. I will do that, I just hope I could
wait long enough. I know the Fit is a great car and it's greatly better then the yaris. Also, I do love the aftermarket support the Fit has.
Anyways, wish me luck, I'm now going to check out of my state and
try not to take up one up the ass buying one. :o

If you were in Puerto Rico I'd said, What the hell are you waiting for!! Go and buy one....

They were nearly impossible to find in the begining, but now, tho not every day, you just go to the dealer and see if there is a manual and grab it, NO WAITING TIME!!!! If there is not a manual, then the dealer guy call you when he gets one, or call the other dealers to trade. no deposit!!!!!

But this is just a little island in the caribbean.

Besides what I just tell.

I'll tell you one more time to WAIT FOR IT!!!!!!!!!@

The Yaris is only cheaper than the Fit because you don't get as much standard (not to mention that the car itself isn't as good) The packages (at least as priced on the toyota site) don't even indicate an option for side air bags (available but hard to find), and don't let you combine some features that compare with the fit. Personally, I won't have any car, especially a small one, without ABS or side air bags. The fit sport also comes std with the keyless entry, etc.

Dealers will usually screw you on a car for any trade in (I got lucky and almost got the edmunds PRIVATE party value when I traded mine in - this is the first time I've EVER traded a car to the dealer because the difference between what I got and could have expected to get privately was only ~$200)

If you can do 2 car payments for 1 month, you keep your old car till the Fit comes in, then sell your current car privately.

The civic is also a nice car, but I was absolutely set on having a hatchback, so that option was a no go for me.....

Here's an update...I was mailing dealers all round my area and outside. So this one dealer called and advised me that they have a Silver coming in next week. So I went struck a
deal and now I'm waiting for the manual sport!!!!:D

We agreed on a monthly payment, I hope the finance
guy don't try to increase it with some b.s. things. So,
if everything goes well, I'll be sporting a Fit very soon.:)

Did you get an opportunity to sit in a Fit?

I suggest you spend some time in the driver's seat -- even if it's not a test drive -- to see if you can find a comfortable driving position. I've had my Sport MT for more than 3 weeks now and have come to the realization that without a telescoping steering wheel and a vertical seat adjustment I will never find an optimal driving position in this car.

I'm a half inch over 6 feet and I have to move the seat forward to hold the steering wheel at less than full arm extension (I prefer to have a little bend in my elbows). With the seat forward my knees are bent more than I like, which also lifts my legs off the seat cushion and splays them out to the side with my right leg resting uncomfortably against the center console. Even if I refrain from reclining the seat back at all (keeping it almost straight up-and-down, which I don't like) I still can't find a good geometry with the steering wheel, the pedals, and the seat cushion.

What I'm getting at is this:

You're in a quandry over whether or not to wait for the Fit or choose a different vehicle.

It's possible that you won't be able to find an optimal driving position in the Fit. If so, you can eliminate the Fit from your list of choices.

Mine is a Storm Silver Sport MT. I've got a very short commute, and have driven less than 250 miles in the 3+ weeks I've had it. With the sub-zero temperatures and snow here in Chicago I haven't had much of a chance to really get to know the car. I've been fashioning a wedge cushion to provide extra leg support with the seat moved forward, and I'm hopeful I find a way to improve my comfort.

I was pretty fortunate in getting the exact car I wanted in a fairly short time. I secured the car with a $500 deposit within days of beginning my search, and drove home in it a little over 2 weeks later. The dealer wouldn't negotiate the price -- I paid MSRP.

So here's the update....I've just picked up my 07 SSM Fit
Sport Manual. I've researched over a month and waited
two weeks. The great news is that due to the wait I got
lucky!! Honda is having a 4.9% financing this weekend
and I qualified for it. Man glad I waited. Anyhoo..I'm
just a happy man today!!

I understand what you guys mean when this car needs to have a telescope steering, but I will adjust eventually.

Man this is a great car for the price. I'm really glad of
this purchase. :)

My biggest issue is the no dead pedal. I find myself alway stepping on the carpet. Normally, I won't feel guilty in doing so, but in the winter is really
gets nasty. Overall, i'm very satisfied!!

Get the Zeta Dead pedal - around $50 or so. Very high quality, easy to install and solves the problem! (no connection, just a satisfied customer....)
