Fit fighter?

I'm amazed that pics of the new Scion xD and xB have been out for two days, and not a word on this site. Yeah, yeah, I know.....it's a Honda Fit site, but I'm sure lots of people here want to know what else is available.

This is a customized 2008 xD. You can see 91 images of this car and the stock version here

yes, from what i have found, it will have the 128hp engine from the Corolla, with either a 5sp MT, or 4sp AT.

but it has rear torsion beam suspension (which I am not a fan of).

From what I have read, base price is in the $13K-14K category.

I do appreciate the styling (and the gauges moved back to the drivers side, from center), but would say that I feel the Fit sport is more appealing to my eyes (sorry, I dont like the base Fit much at all)

I don't like the looks of the Scion-inside or out. Of course that's just my opinion and I'm sure Toyota will sell a lot of them. In the meantime I'll just keep counting the weeks until my Fit arrives at my dealer....

Okay after doing some looking around...this is what the production model will look like.

The more I look at it the more I think the backend looks like a Dodge Caliber.

Toyota finally got wise and finally put a bigger engine in this car (did you notice that the new Xb has a 158 HP motor - the same as the Scion TC). Now you have to hope that the new 2008 Fit will have a bigger engine also. If Toyota does this with the X cars, it's like they are challenging Honda to make the next move. OK, turbocharged 2000 CC Fit.....:p

It won't happen. Honda can't have their entry level Fit outperform their precious Civic Si. :D

Fit Type R anyone? Limited production of 1000??? :D :D :D

Looks like a cross between a Chevy HHR and the Dodge Caliber...

This car is definitely aiming to attack the fit. Not cuz it's a small car but hte interior. Look at it. Fit was known for its expensive looking interior. The XD has one of the most impressive interiors ever seen for an econobox, obviously inspired by the fit.

I too thought it looked like the dodge caliber. I think this car is smaller than it looks. It looks longer b/c I think it's shorter in height.

What sucks about this car and the redone xB are the pillars. It makes changing lane very difficult. I already dislike that for the fit, and the fit has windows. This car doesn't have windows on the furthest back on the sides.

I like the changes they made. Better competition yields better products.

In particular, I like the more powerful engine and the option of getting stability control.

I am patiently waiting for Honda's response when the next gen Fit comes out!
