2008 Honda Accord First impressions
Today I was down at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. I was there to drive the new lineup of 2008 Accords. As you may know this is a total REDESIGN.
Models will include:
Sedans
LX, LX-P(premium), EX, EX-L(optional Navi w/bluetooth), EX V-6, EX-L V-6(optional Navi w/bluetooth)
Coupes
LX-S(sport), EX, EX-L(optional Navi w/bluetooth), EX-L V6(optional Navi w/bluetooth)
2 4cyl motors are available. 2.4L 177hp for LX models. 2.4L 190hp for EX+ Models
6cyl motor is 3.5L 268hp
ALL MODELS STANDARD WITH VSA
ALL MODELS STANDARD STEERINGWHEEL MOUNTED AUDIO CONTROLS
V6 MODELS STANDARD VCM(excluding EX V6 6spd)
COUPES INCLUDE HALOGEN PROJECTORS
ALL MODELS MP3/WMA COMPATABLE
ALL MODELS AUX INPUT
BLUETOOTH OPTIONAL ON ALL ACCORDS/STANDARD WITH NAVI
I didnt get too much time behind the wheel of the 4cyl. But the 4cyl felt slower than the Fit lol. The 6cyl motor is VERY strong. Pulls very nice and has nice tone. The interiors on the car is very BMWish and reminds me of the 5series. Honda chose a new spot to mount the Navi, and has a "sunken" in look. There is ALOT of space in this car. Comparing fit and finish between the Accord, Camry, and Altima.. the Accord by far takes it by far. I was very pleased with the 6cyl Accords. Its a whole different car than the previous years. Handles alot better, and the power is instant. The V6 6spd was my Favorite, I drove it HARD around the course and was pretty impressed at how far I was able to push the Car.
4cyl Accord I will rate at a 6.5/10 only because i was limited on how I could drive it.
6cyl I will rate a 8/10 and the V6 6spd will take a 9/10
Info will be released from Honda on August 21st, Car goes on sale September 12th.
Think Honda has a winner :)

theres nowhere online yet with detailed pics, Honda wont release pics til the 21st. Even the cars there were covered up with vinyl so you couldnt see everything.

Thanks for posting...
Ever since getting rid of my Mustang I've always been contemplating eventually getting back into one. But after driving the Civic, and now the Fit, I'm reallly beginning to be won over by the Japanese import philosophy (design, efficiency, ergonomics, etc). The Accord coupe is something which certainly would interest me and I'm keeping an eye out for the release. But today I also saw the new Nissan Altima Coupe...first glance it was very impressive. Hmmm. Maybee I should just stay in the Fit!

I drove it today as well (the altima) very harsh ride. Handling is ok, it also FEELS slow for some reason.

It doesn't matter how nice the new accord is, the car still looks like arse to me. If the vehicle looks like the spy shots released earlier on TOV, I assure you the sales will take a small dip. There are others like me who base their vehicle purchasing decision on aesthetics.

www.jalopnik.com ; Great site if you like cars...they blog about all different types around the world. Those look like pretty authentic pics to me, just Honda trying to hide their emblem won't hide the fact that they are the new Accords.
They are very trustworthy and I'm 95% sure that that is what the new Accord will look like in both forms. If you search "Accord" on the Jalopnik site, there are even interior shots. Enjoy guys.

That interior look really nice, same with the exterior. If it doesnt go up in price it will be a sweet car for the money. The only thing the inside is missing is PBS(push button start) and paddle shifters!

Here are some images taken from the Temple of VTEC. I think the front and side look amazing in the 2 door form!

Man I just saw it on Edmunds...
The 4-door looks like a toyota avalon front and bmw rear, i don't like the styling much. And the sloping line in the back looks like a Gremlin or something if you follow it. The 2-door is a Mustang + G35, and Grand Prix on the sides.
Of course it'll still sell like hotcakes due to reputation, which is a good thing. I'm sure they are fine vehicles!
