well, both sedan and coupe r beautiful designs, however, i am disapointed with the new accord that only 268 horses r on tap..and still frd. i have an accord v6 exl with some stuff done to it and have been waiting for the hp/tq of the 08 before deciding wether to turn in/keep my current 03..well guess i'll just really do up my 03 now. with just 67000kms on it, and not much of a hp increase in the 08, like the fit i will totally mod my 03 accord and hunt down some beemers. i luv my fit, way to much fun in the city, and now will make the accord feel the same. the 08 accord looks great but i do not think 268hp will encourage many to turn in the older model.

with 400hp/400ftlbs torque on tap in the new camaro/challenger rwd and all kinds of hp/torque picks in the mustang i think honda has just not gone far enough...hunting down camrys should be pase' for honda..honda needs to step up..accura line is too pretty, not raw enough like the bmw line.

the mustang gt with a 6speed is just all it should be..sure the accord is a much better built machine, no doubt, daaaa, but give me 350hp/350ftlbs in an 08 accord and i'm trading in for an 08 accord.

i luv my hondas...4 in the house right now, but more hp-more torque and step into the rwd segment honda.... please!!.......

u cant compare the new camaro with an accord...the camaro puts out a 400hp v8 engine...and the accord is a 268hp v6 engine...i think the accord shouldnt even be spoken in the same breadth as the new fifth generation camaro...however, if u have the money and looking for performance, look for the newly designed Acura NSX several years (dont know for sure, it says possibly 2009 on autoblog) from now...its been discontinued as of late...but supposedly theyre redesigning the engine to a v10 platform instead of the v6 platform...could u imagine a v10 engine within that light weight aluminum alloy based frame...

(edit)
"NSX was a point of pride for Acura having received accolades such as " the best sports car ever built" from Motor Trend" to me that says a lot for Honda/Acura creating performance vehicles

Your version of the Accord is our TSX here in North America. I don't think the new accord here will make it over there. Instead, I'd monitor the development of the TSX here and see if they make any changes.

Any more specs on this car, I checked the Honda.ca website and only HP is mentioned. What about powerband, redline, engine torque, est acceleration figures?

agreed, accord/camaro...but am in the 2 door coupe period of time again..while i have a sweet camaro convert, and the 4 door accord which is just as sweet in it's own way, i don't really need another camaro, but i do need a dailey 2 door coupe, so was hoping for the refinement i would get in the accord but with a 300/300 min power source.....there's the G this and that, all those infinitis and the 350z, but if looking there might as well just do the camaro...i am kinda stuck on the honda, and thought honda would take the next jump, but alas, not enough power,,nsx, still sweet and soon to be even sweeter..but not for me $$..luv cars, and luv the friggin fit!! way too much fun!!

On the sedan the headlights look Lexus, The rear trunk looks Acura TL and the rear bumper looks BMW.

The front grill looks uninspiring and almost has a Ford feel. The lower grill could have been made a bit more agressive.

As for the coupe, the the back end could have been alot more agressive. At least the G35 coupe has some personality which is lacking on the Accord Coupes.

Don't get me wrong, I've had a 96 Accord which I love and miss my car. I just think they could have been a bit more creative.

well if they make it TOO good their Acura line would lose too many customers! Prolly saving the best for the Acuras

True, but Acura is losing grounds against Lexus. I see more IS, GS and LS then TL and RLs.

I think it's safe to say that the Accord we see here is strictly for the North American markets. According to my trusty blog, the Euro Accord will be making a concept debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show and a production vehicle should be out the middle of next year.

Well, the coupe is sort of nice looking, I just dont know if i can get over that front grille. What happened to the aggressive front grille it had?? Now it looks too toned down. It will probably look better in real life. Found some rad pics on www.netcarshow.com
