What makes me mad is that Honda is willing to bring this SE Mugen Civic SI, but have yet to even hint at the possibility of bringing over the Type-R. I hope all of the Mugen Civics get snatched up then maybe they will bring over the good stuff. I'd beg, steal, and borrow for a Type-R.

If you really want honda to bring a type r....

DON"T buy the mugen si.

I have thought long and hard about the mugen si and why honda decided to bring it over here. A press release stated that they wanted to see how important mugens parts are to customers. Hell, a tuning magazine even JUSTIFIED the cost of it, simply because its mugen parts.

Wake up people.

Realize what honda has given us: a factory RICER. A car that LOOKS fast, but really offers not significant...hell not even any meager performance benefits over the regular si. It will give your wallet a workout though!

Buying this car only proves to honda one thing: people like bodykits, and the fast and furious crowd IS who honda has to cater to, because they are the only ones who will bye this stuff.

Would i pay 30k or slightly under for this civic? Hell yeah!...if:

1. It had actual engine work done, i'm talking at least 220 hp

2. Bigger brakes and mugen break lines and pads

3. An exclusive interior that is more than just a crappy shift knob and serial badge (i mention this because someone said that it has a new 'shifter' and i didn't know any better, i would have taken that as it has a new transmission unit specific to it. No. it has a shift KNOB.)

But nope. HOnda doesn't care. And this is going to solidify mugen as a great if not completely, totally, horrendously overpriced tuner. Or should i say 'vehicle aesthetics enchancer?'

Now would i pay 25k? sure. but not near 30. at that point, an STI, and EVO or an R32 start to look even more delicious.

It does look badass though. Like a shark.

/end rant.

Used ones still go for 25k

Must have been deleted, I saw it there about a week ago, but today a quick browse and search yielded no results. Much like in this thread, many over there argue about whether or not it's a good deal. Most Si owners feel its not but big arguements break out quite frequently and the mods there don't tolerate it.

Yeah it always makes me wonder why the american's are whining about these prices? I had to pay over 20k for my fit, hell my fully loaded civic ex was like 27k out the door, so 30k for a mugen civic is just fine with me. Canadians have been getting screwed over by car companies for years and now we can finally get some nice cars for a reasonable price.

Long live the loonie!!!

Ill pass it on.

I guess its nice. I honestly dont see what the hype is? Only good thing is its very limited, thats it.

And whats with everyone wanting to hear it? Hahaha! Like 5-6 people said that on OrlandoForums. Its a Civic with an exhaust, big whoop. Probably sounds like this : Vroooom Vrooooooooommmmm pahpah.

kiddin

I hate those i-VTEC stickers on the side. I went with my friend when he picked up his 4 door Si. Before we left the dealer I ripped them off. So much nicer.

I want to hear it because i expect to hear a all Mugen exhaust, that is factory tuned and wont sound like any other Si with exhaust..I bet this car in real life would knock your socks off!

Idk... maybe?

That exhaust can be bought from any Mugen distributor. Im sure its really low toned, probably sounds the same as a stock Si. You know how they have that noticeable tone but its not loud? Im sure thats what Mugen was going for. Little extra power but more than anything; looks.

I think Si's sound great with bolt on exhaust systems. Sound great with a cat-delete and a header too. Just like the RSX. K20 sounds yummy.

Not trying to bust your balls man. Looking at some of my post, I seem like an ass. Im really not. Im like the easiest person to get along with.
I love you? :)

apples to oranges. if you paid 27k for a civic ex in canada, you'd have to up the price for a mugen si as well, which i guess if we stick with the same ratio, it would be around 40K for you?

edmunds reviewers said it was noticably louder than the regular si, but still not fart-can obnoxious. According to honda, the horsepower increase was so insignificant they didn't even bother to rate it.
