Spy shots 2008 Civic Type R... Turbo?

They say it could possibly get the rdx 2.3 turbo motor since there is little room left to add power to the original motor. My guess is there will be no change to the engine...but a next model type r could get it. It could come stateside too. Pigs could also grow wings.

I dunno, the new engine is up in the air. I could see both sides to that story...

As for shipping these Civics to NA, I'll put money down that they will never hit our shores...unfortunately most people here don't like small cars let alone hatchbacks!

i say honda needs to screw demographics, and bring back the hatch that everyone has secretly wanted since the demise of the ep3 or the ek.

the fit has been doing great, and the mazda 3 hatch has done very well too. there is no reason to not have a civic hatchback. hell there used to be a 4wd wagon, and i think the hatchback crowd at the very least is bigger than that crowd!

as far as the turbo goes....i dunno. i really like the idea, but it doesn't really keep up with si heritage.

I see the need to up power in the next si (specifically torque) but honda could very easily tune a k23 or k24 to 220hp or more and if they keep the si's weight down, they can keep their naturally aspirated approach to peformance, without having to go turbo.

That story is from May, 2006. We already know what engine is in that car.

Those 2 are actually both 4 door models where as the Civic would come over as a 2 door hatch.

I can see Quebec buying that car left and right but other provinces and the US won't like it quite as much. The Fit is popular because of it's versatility not it's size.

even so, if there was a hatch like this in america, even slighlty dumbed down and if was still under 20k, i'd taken it over the fit in a heart beat. Its got magic seats too. but then again, even if it didnt', i'd still take it!
