MPG Difference Between Jazz & Fit
MPG Difference Between Jazz & Fit
I noticed the specs difference between the Fit and the Jazz. The Jazz's MPG is insanely different (avg 41.3) and was wondering what was the major difference between the two. One factor I know is the weight difference of 216 lbs. That can be easily the increase of MPG. Was that weight from the Jazz 1.5 or the 1.3 engine? The smaller the displacement, the lighter it can be. I say this even though the specs listed on the home page, how could 216 lbs of weight be removed without taking out major necessary parts, like seats, exhaust, etc. Also, the Jazz's 0-60 mph seconds was 11.3 vs NA's 8.3. with 1+ more hp than the Fit. The specs just don't add up. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd like to know. If my Fit can acquire 41.3 MPG by removing 216 lbs, yet maintain or increase my 110 HP, I'd be happy to give it try. Let me know, Alan.

it could be because:
1 liquid US gallon = 3.785 411 784 litres ≈ 0.833 imperial gallon
1 imperial gallon = 4.546 09 litres ≈ 1.201 liquid US gallons
with the 0-60 times, here in the UK we only have the 1.3 engine Jazz
