My '98 ITR was stolen!

posted this on honda-tech... just thought I'd toss it on here in case anyone sees it..

the car had the stock wheels on it.... parked right outside my gated community.

Stolen Saturday night in San Elijo Hills (San marcos, CA) I even removed the ECU because i was parking it on the street... kill switch on, alarm, I even disconnected some shit under the hood... Apparently, they used my neighbor's ecu from his GS, who was parked a few cars down from me... they even stole his battery, not sure why my battery worked fine...

It looks pretty much stock... it's pretty low... has a black front lip... if anyone sees some chit... I would appreciate a heads up... I usually keep it garaged, but I was working on my Fit this weekend... and I thought the extra precautions would be enough to deter the thieves... BOY WAS I WRONG!!! and now she's gone...

peace.

mother effers! yes they deserve to die, and i hope they burn in hell!

man that sucks. damn the integras rep and its ability to be stolen one way or another. we should all talk crap on type r's so that the apparent 'desireability' goes down and no one wants to steal em!

sorry man best of luck with finding her!

Any way that it might be linked to the D Bag that was boosting cars and selling the sh*t on H-T?

haha maybe, but maybe not. how would anybody know that though.

i'm sorry about your type r though. you seem to be pretty composed about it just judging from your post. even with all the precautions, it still got taken = hella sucky. why do they keep taking everyone's type r!!!

I am just in awe at the audacity it must have taken to accomplish this. I had:
- alarm
- killswitch
- battery disconnected
- plug wires disconnected
- removed ecu

They were fu©king diligent in getting my ride... and they obviously took their time.

in regards to why... take a browse on the H-T type R forum, and you will see 2-3 go down per month... it is absolutely out of control...

Thanks to all for the kind words... I don't expect a recovery... I can only hope I don't take it up the arse with my ins co... on a good note I have found out my settlement offer will be based on other type r's for sale in the area, as apposed to KBB value... which will surely help my cause, as most type r's for sale in the SD area are well kept, and not cheap.

I swear, after all this, I'm gonna buy a god damn moped. Yeah, that's right, I said it.

Oh & FU©K thieves god damn Fu©king mother fu©kers!!!!!!

Well keep it in the family and get a Honda Ruckus (Zoomer), they are pretty sweet JDM scooters.

how did they do it, how did they have so much time to even figure out the ecu was gone and how did a gs ecu run a type r, sounds like an inside job, any shady people you know find out about your precautions? neihbors and so called friends.

Maybe they just flatbed it? ...Then again the missing parts from your nieghbours GS dosn't line up with that. In any case it sounds like your car was scoped out for a while, all the precautions you took would deter most thieves.

They had to be expecting it when they came, I would say you have got somebody local that had spotted it before and was waiting for you to park it outside, plus they may have watched you take the precations. Either that or like what japspeed was saying.

Sure sounds like you were hit by someone that knows you. Start thinking about your friend and neighbors that might be shady and could have shady friends. Even your neighbor with the missing ECU. He removes his ecu put it in yours him or a friend take your car. A week later he puts the original ECU back in and tell you he ordered a new one. Friend gives him 2k for his part of the deal .... done car is now in TJ
