Infiniti G35 vs Fit....say whaaa

Long-Term Road Tests - 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport: Not a Fan of HVAC System

This is cute story of the fit's awesome interior. I was bored and looked at random long term blogs, and I saw this one complaining about the G35's HVAC layout. Then the writer used the fit as an example of the best HVAC layout, which is the old fashioned knobs.

lol, pretty funny stuff. so the guy is from the stone age and can't
figure out the buttons?

on the fit's defrost mode you can't turn off a/c unless you modify it
so i suppose his car's hvac has some benefits. lol

The motor runs but it's not blowing cold air.

Oh so basically he's saying it just cuts down on power while you're using it.

It's not user friendly. My mom's RDX is like that, which is the same as the new accord. I hate the interface

Nice! I like simplicity in technology...so that was a funny read (although a
bit off on the reasoning....but hey its still funny) Just from looks the Fit
comparison pic looks not to bad next to the G's...

We have 1997 Nissan Quest whose HVAC controls are....well....ummmm...
how you say....ahhhh yes, EMBARRASSINGLY HORRIBLE!:mad:ARRRRG!!!
but I digress....anywho...

I love the Fit's simple controls. I am afraid to touch the controls in a Mini Cooper because you can't tell what any of them do.

not only that, the a/c helps reduce humidity. when there's snow/ice
on the corner of your window and you run just the regular heat without
a/c, the window will fog up.

my G35C's like that and i dont have issues with it... i think it's just
a matter of getting use to the interface.

im not really fond of the manual hvac styling so i prefer climate
control in my cars. looks more elite..but that's just me. i dont
mind it in my FitS though. i like the utility theme.

Well anyone can get used to any interface. A good design means the learning curve to get used to it is shorter.

The current typing method is the QWERTY. There is another layout called Dvorak. People who learn Dvorak can learn and then achieve the same wpm as the QWERTY speed in just a few hours. This means Dvorak is a better design. (PS, the Guiness record for typing is Dvorak)

That's the point with the HVAC. If you get a stranger to sit in the infiniti and a stranger in the Fit, they'll most always know the HVAC faster on the fit than the infiniti doing the same function (not advance functions like climate).

I read another comment either on autoblog or edmunds about the silverado vs tundra. The tundra uses traditional knobs while silverado has the digital up/down cold/hot buttons. The blogger said he prefered the knobs b/c he can change from one extreme (hot, min fan speed, etc) to the other (cold, max fan speed, etc) in 1/2 second while the silverado takes like 5 seconds.

Here's an einstein quote that I love, and explains why I love the fit and apple products

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius — and a lot of courage — to move in the opposite direction." -- Albert Einstein

So there you have it. Einstein thinks the fit is more genius and less violent!

All cars utilize the Air Conditioner when you turn on defrost. Does not matter if the light comes on or not, the Air Conditioner is coming on. My SI does the same thing, my brothers Maxima does the same thing. It's purpose is to take the humdity away from the windown and clear it up.
