Scion Hako Coupe Concept

Wow, if this is where Toyota wants to take their Scion brand, consider it GONE in a few years time!

What the hell is that thing!?!
Well, i think Scions days are numbered. There sales have been dropping 8 months in a row, and then they come out with that thing as there concept. I almost threw up when i saw that thing lol.

scion did exactly what it shouldnt have. it started making usdm only cars and not importing the counterparts. so the new xb in japan is funky i love it. the new xb here is fat heavy and gets bad gas milage the reason the original sold is cuz it was funky not cuz it was practical that was just an added bonus. and have you seen the xd that thing makes me throw up everytime i drive by one lol scion is screwed if they keep letting white 50 y0s run it lol nowwww. 22 y0 italians ;) and wed be in business.....im jus sayin lol :p

oh. my. god.

that has to be the ugliest damn thing i've ever seen.

my favorite quote:

"As you know, polarizing style fits in well with our lineup," said Hollis. "And of course we love a good box. We'll listen to the feedback from this concept to help us determine how our brand could evolve and grow over the next five years."

there will BE no scion in 5 years if they leave it up to that thing.

First the xb2 and now this.
It's all down hill for Scion now.

The new xB was a disaster. But I kind of like this thing. It looks like something a gangster from the 20's would drive. Kudos to Scion for having some balls this time around. But it needs to NOT put a big, guzzling engine in it or make it overweight.

Did it take anyone else a few seconds to figure out which way it goes? I think from an interior perspective, having a pillarless design in the front would be SWEET.

Other uses could include: outhouse, school bus, bread box....??
I showed it to my husband, he said "Everything about it sucks ass."

Keep an open mind. Remember when everyone said the original xB was ugly and would fail? Even when the iPod came out, everyone said it would fail miserably. Then the iPod Mini came out and everyone said it would fail miserably. I'd like to see how this does if something similar ever makes it to production.

Let's not forget that Honda thought the Fit would fail in the US and didn't release it until precursors like Scion did well. That's why we got it so late!

its needed in this world to have companies like this. In example, some clothing brands make funky crazy things u think no one would wear but there is always someone rocking it. such is scion making cars...

but this, kind of looks like a dog in the frontview, dont yall think?

Yea, Scion is fast turning into a lesson on shooting yourself in the foot. What I can't believe is that they don't understand that a lot of Scion's appeal to enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts alike was that the xB and xA were great, affordable, reliable JDM products. I mean, isn't that what Japanese cars all once were anyway??? The very cars that created the reputation???

Now they go and make stuff for the U.S. market, and leave the JDM stuff home, and Toyota can't understand why the new xB and hideous xD are FLOPPING BIGTIME! Hellooooooo! No JDM mystique here Toyota!

Toyota better get it's act together and get the JDM bB here real fast or there won't be a Scion. People will be flocking to Nissan for Cubes. Oh, and dropping the xD and just bringing the 5-door Yaris would be too simple, wouldn't it?

Toyota North America without Jim Press is looking a lot like a ship without a captain. :rotfl: But that's o.k. I'm a Honda guy. :D

Well this thing wouldn't be so bad, IF IT WAS THE 1920'S!!!!! This thing is supposed to replace the TC????!!! Oh come on!!! Toyota is better off having Homer Simpson as chief designer. Well actually look what it done to his brother's company. But I guess it's just trial & error for Toyota, & this is a BIG error. Well Toyota should bring back the Celica & the modern version of the AE86, but not this.
