Hey all. Decided to resurrect this thread instead of starting a new one with basically the same topic...
Seems like there may be a bunch more riders on the forum since the last post was made here so check in and make yourself known! Especially if yer in NJ because I don't really have any friends that ride :-/ Just took the basic rider course and got my motorcycle endorsement this past weekend. I'm looking to get something between 250 & 650cc so as to not go crazy right off the bat and kill myself ;-) An older Suzuki sv650 is my first choice, but we'll see what fate has in mind... You can drive smoothly but when you need to go fast the power is there.......and donīt forget the sound of a v-twin. Keep us updated on your purchase. |

A friend of a friend has a GSF400 he may be willing to part with and that's an inline 4 carb, so maybe a bit more aggressive powerband from what I've heard? Still seems like a good bike though and I really want something naked. I don't want the image associated with riding a sport bike that has bright orange spaceship-looking fairings lol |

It handles gerat! I live a couple miles north of downtown Chicago and it is a blast in the city. It is only a 650 so it is strong but not too much and can handle highway speeds fine (2 down in the rear helped). Cornering is fine it is lowered about 1.5 inches with a stock rake. The only issue is with it being a hardtail the ride can be a little firm at times. |
