E85 Supra.

Wanted to pass this a long to you all. This guy; Darin is amazing with Supras. Hes the one of the builders and is the tuner at Titan MotorSports. His Supra is one of the worlds faster 6speed street Supras around. I think it still holds a record? Best time is 8.55@171mph and thats on the 3.0L block still. No stroker kit

He has now tuned it for E85 on the street. ;)

We just got an E85 fuel pump in Orlando, and to me it's a no brainer to run my Supra on this fuel for the street now that it's available. So tonight I finally had time to put the fuel in and get the tuneup dialed in on the E85. My goal was to hit about 800 hp with a very conservative tuneup, then dial it in on the street from there.

The setup is:
Built 3.0L
TMS Ported head w/ Jun cams
6 speed trans w/ Tilton clutch
Garrett GT47-80R w/ Twin Tial 44mm wastegates
4" dp and exhaust
Titan Modifed Stock Intake manifold
160 lb Injectors
Weldon Fuel pump w/ dial a flo
Motec M600 ECU - w/PNP harness

Results were:
740 hp @ 18 psi - Base boost level
855 hp @ 24 psi - Highest boost level tested

I backed it down to around 20 psi where it was making right around 800hp which is where I want to keep it for street driving.

Also, It was making 24 psi by 5200, which I believe is slightly quicker than it does with race gas.

Overall, I am happy with the results and plan to the car on E85 all the time on the street. It made exactly the amount of power I wanted without having to really push it at all. It is also smoother to drive around now with the 160lb injectors, due to the need for higher pulsewidth at cruise and low rpm. Hopefully the mileage isn't too bad. I am expecting around 16-17 mpg. I am saving around $8.50 per gallon over race gas though so even if mileage isn't as good I am still saving money..

Here is a video from the dyno today.

Feel free to ask any questions..

Thanks.
-Darin

Titan has a lot of cars. Theyre all powered by the 2JZ.

Not sure about pricing but e85 has a much higher octane compared to regular unleaded gasoline.

I guess we only have one pump here in Orlando with E85.

He did say this in the quote above.
I am saving around $8.50 per gallon over race gas though so even if mileage isn't as good I am still saving money..
He normally runs straight C16 race gas. That ish is damn expensive.
Keep in mind I run my Mazda on 100oct, and thats $8.00 a gal. So think of what C16 cost.

Yea... Its up there. Thats why I dont drive her much. I have her timing advanced and 100oct will limit detonation.

Shes on 93oct right now because I was going to go to that Mazda meet. Its a 2hr drive and she has a coolant leak right now. Not going. :(

Less compared to what, C16? I've been running E85 for the last 6,000 miles in my evo and couldn't be happier. I'm paying 3.20 vs like 4.40 (not sure haven't filled up on premium in a while) and am getting 15 mpg instead of 18. Considering we're talking 105 octane versus 92, there really isn't a reason not to run it if you were ever considering running race gas daily.

lol, e85 was more expensive here than normal gas here last year. Haven't checked the prices recently though...mostly considering cause eI don't see em to often anymore. 10% the is normal though, think that's what's used on 90+oct fuels here.
Isn't for e85 you need higher compression? Along with/or different timing? I know my lesabre ran a little more ummm...chuggy?...on teh 10% eth. blends. Haven't and won't put it in the fit though.

I can assure you your Fit will run fine on E10. The only side effects may be lower running temperatures and unnoticeably lower gas mileage

Yea, lol, if e10 were cheaper I prolly would but it's the higher/highest pump oct so it's more. And yea, I never realized how hot it runs till last night. I wanna find a way to keep it a bit cooler. In that bay, have an idea just gotta see how much it'll cost to do it.
