That is the last thing I wanted to see to be honest. I am glad that the fit is being rated so high but means that I am going to have to see more of the locally now that they are being rated better and better. Don't mind seeing some but soon it is going to turn into the new civic or neon and there are going to be all kinds of people buying them then next thing you know they are going to sell cheap used and that is when the really really rice cars start coming out.....

Ohhh well..... hurray for the fit :)

yep, that's wat ive been saying all along.

the first thing one should ask is whether they would ever use
the price delta amount in gas after 5yrs of ownership?

that's a lot of gallons of gas we're talking here even at
today's gas prices. :D

if it's a hybrid lux car i would consider it, but you're talking
about some pos toyota econobox converted to a hybrid.
it's not worth the premium price.

Wow, I was surprised. I expected that down the line, the Prius would be better being a hybrid and getting high mpg. I guess the Fit really is Go

anyone else surprised that they got such poor gas mileage out of the fit? They must be testing those in some really dense cities where prius batteries actually make a difference... and where the fit engine gets to sit and idle.

probably because they did mostly city driving or because of the auto transmission.

Slightly off topic, but... I did the math on a base civic vs. civic hybrid, and it would take something like 23yrs to make up for the cost of the Hybrid. You only save a couple hundred dollars a year on fuel, and the hybrid costs like 5 grand more!!!
I'm just happier everyday that I bought a Fit.

My parents drive an auto civic hybrid and usually get 46 in the city that is pretty dense city on the high way they usually get around 55-60 depending wether my mom is driving or my dad I think that is pretty good since the car is an 04' civic hybrid and automatic. I usually get around 28 in the city with my auto fit so they are blowing me out of the water.

i think they should have done the fit sport compared to the prius because there is no such thing as a 100% base prius. they always have a package or two that ups the msrp. (thats where toyota makes the money)

and as seeing fits on the road go to los angeles. all you see are fits and prius.

anyone else notice that they removed the electric steering from the fit?
apparently theirs did not have the electric steering that the prius did.

Apparently theirs is fully manual like the first Hondas, better get used to turning the wheel a lot! Haha that's funny they goofed on that.

Too bad the USDM doesn't have the CVT, it would have really helped in this comparison.
