Driving at highway speed, my car began a noise (like stones in a can). I
pulled over and discovered it had died, would not restart and that all the
engine oil had drained out. Tried putting more in and the oil just ran out.
Any idea what's wrong before I see the dealer?

Perhaps the oil pan drain plug was not tightened after the last oil change
and fell out. That would explain the oil running out. Whatever, the engine
ran without oil for a period of time and is now junk. Depending on how bad
the internals are, it may be cheaper to find a used engine at ajunk yard.
