What will you trade-in / sale your fit for?
My Fit isnt going anywhere. I bought it from a utility standpoint. It's a daily driver that gets me from home to work. It's purpose was to replace the Integra which I had for almost 17 years. I have no reason to replace it. I plan to have the Fit and drive it for just as long or close to it.
I bought the fit because I wanted a hatchback for my dogs. I'd been eyeing the scion tC for a year or so and had my heart set on that, but then we got another dog. Two eightysomething pound beasties in the back of a coupe is mean. So for many months I thought of what the ideal car for me would be...
Fell in love with the VW golf diesel... but I drive 90 miles a day and I need more reliability than I could get from an older VW.
So then Rabbit maybe? Same problem after a few years, and the mpg just isn't good enough.
Thought about the matrix/vibe, prius, yaris hatch etc.
When my civic finally died and it was time to buy asap, I configured and priced a yaris hatch but once I read my consumer reports, I was concerned it wasn't safe enough. Started reading reviews of the Fit and wondered why I never thought of it before. It seemed so obvious. I test drove the next day and bought one from the shipment later that week.
I always have the magicseats down. I cut down my F-150 truck bedliner mat to fit snugly across the entire rear of the car with the seats down. The hard plastic liner of the matrix was just too awesome that I had to make my own (that the dogs wouldn't slip on).
Ask me in 10 years or 150,000 miles, and we'll talk. Right now it's the perfect car for my needs.
I'm also done with expensive cars. They stop shining long before they're paid off. I'd rather spend the $$$ towards buying a dream vacation property.

Lotus Elise, if saving for a condo weren't more important to me.
Either that or I'd trade it in on a Triumph Speed Triple for the commute, and say fuŠk all to driving a car. But then I'd be stuck driving my girlfriend's beat up old Civic every time I don't want to travel alone. I tried living without a car before. Showing up everywhere in a perforated leather jacket and carrying around gloves and a helmet all the time gets old.
So, I'll stick with the Fit.

I'm down for the first mini-Civic hybrid due here in April. Rumored to have diesel option as well as gas models with 50+ mpg capability. Supposed to be $2k less than Prius.

If money were no object:
A Viper
A 73 Cuda (440 hemi)
A 1936 Cord Phaeton (coffin front) Cord Automobile - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A crotch rocket of some variation
A Shelby Mustang
A great big ugly old truck for driving on the ranch (remember, money is no object)
An Avanti jet
And a villa in Italy.
Thank you very much.

lots of good choices guys.
but if your dream car isn't too far off from reality, it makes it easier.
since money will always be an object, i would consider trading the fit for the new mk6 golf/rabbit, or a current gen GTI.
but for now, the financing situation of my fit is keeping me in it for awhile. and even then, i'd still want a car to toy around with...the veedubs make good cruisers and daily drivers, and people can take them much further, i just wouldn't.

OMG, just a replica costs 72 grand!! You got some expensive tastes in wheels, there, brah.
When is the meet next Sunday? I have a retreat until 4 I think.
Oh, yeah, I forgot that one!!! What a beauty. Can you imagine the gasoline cost of driving one of those beasts?? But oh, what pleasure...forget about vTec, I'll take a straight-8 or V-8 any day!

Well, I won't make it then - retreat all weekend until Sunday afternoon. Next time!
Auburns and Cords are nice... but what about old Rolls-Royces? I would kill for a 1935 Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe (read: convertible) black with red leather. (droooooooool). As far as reality goes, I'm keeping my fit for a while. It's the only car I've ever owned which I'm still happy with after nearly two years of owning it. I have been accused of having automotive ADD lol. If I had the money I probably would trade it in for an S2000 but... that's not possible, I'm a full time college student lol.
