NSX engine in a S2000?

Does anyone know if it's possible to swap the standard F22C1 engine in the S2000 with the C32B1 engine from the NSX? Not that I'll ever be able to do it, just curious...

I'm sure it could work with enough money, but the S2000 is FR and the NSX is MR so it might be difficult to mate those different platforms up.

Anything can be done with the right amount of $$$$. It then becomes a matter of personal opinion if its worth the time and money. I have seen 300Z motors placed in Maxima's, the owner thinks it was worth it, I think it was a waste of money. To each their own. If this is a project you are looking into, more power to you as it sounds interesting. I myself would be curious as to the end result.

My knowledge of the newer NSXs is limited but the early models had horizontally opposed 6s somewhat like a porsche 911. It seems like swapping an almost "flat 6" for a more traditional upright motor would be, although not impossible, incredibly difficult and expensive.

youre better off using the motor out of a 09tl-S mounted front/back like how honda made the element-d ( they used the same style J motor)

that's a pretty good idea. plus the TL-S engine is 3.5 liters as opposed to the 3.2 from the NSX.

edit: ...or better yet, i could take the 3.7 liter v6 from the acura RL. that is, if it fits in the s2000 engine bay. 3.7 liters is a lot bigger than 2.2...

it wouldn't take that much to make the transverse mounted nsx engine to a longitudinally mounted in the s2k. I've seen it done before with 4g63 and vq engines. You would need a to fine a nsx engine with is dam near impossible and expensive to do. then you would have to mate the engine to some kind of transmission. i don't know if the sk2 transmission would work but i bet that u have a better chance of using a t-5 or t-56 trans with a adapter plate to work. since we are on the topic of engine swaps has anyone though of putting a k series engine an s2k? parts are cheaper and more plentiful than the f20. i am surprised that i have not seen someone put a big bore k24 (k26 engine?) with turbo and call it a day.

um, no. the TL-S is a 3.5 liter v6, up from 3.2 liters in the standard TL. if you don't believe me, go to Acura.com and see for yourself. the 3.7 liter engine in the RL and the MDX is currently the biggest and most powerful honda engine available to the public.

there's also the 2.3L Turbo RDX motor
only problem is there's only an auto tranny

only Honda motor with stock turbo setup :D

3.7L would be insane in an s2k though lol

That is incorrect, the NSX originally had the C30, which was a 3 litre V6, not a boxer motor. NA2s had the C32, a 3.2 litre V6. I don't know where you got that, hehe. If you don't believe me please feel free to look it up on nsxprime :)

Again my knowledge of the NSX is that of a "layman" but that which one might choose to call a v-6 (what angle is between that V) might vary. Porsches, Ferraris, suberu (sorry sp?) "boxer" motors all have some sort of "V" angle even though they may claim to be horizontally opposed. I'm just saying getting that motor in an S2000 might be pain in the A$%. It's going to be "non standard".
