For the cost anyways it would be way more cost-effective to just build the stock f-series up. But if you got money, time, and fabrication skills, go for it.

Anything is possible my friend. With enough loot you could just build a custom s2000 with all sorts of nsx parts.

the cost:benefit isn't really worth it.
NSX engines are expensive and it would cost a lot to custom fabricate tranny mounting plates and motor mounts.
the NSX is only about 200 lbs. heavier, but it's a better balanced car. you'd be better off just picking up a used '91-'93 NSX.

I love the S2000, but IMHO the NSX looks 10 times better than the S2000 and would be a better project and safer to drive.

No Honda has ever had a horizontally opposed piston arrangement. This means the pistons fire 180 degrees opposite each other much like and "H" formation of the WRX boxer engine and some Porsche engines.

Building a eg civic with a mid mounted NSX motor has always been my dream car. The fit has more room for an engine in the back, but you would have to extend the entire chassis in the back to install a wider track. It would be sick though. If they ever bring over a renault clio v6 that would be the it.

Honda has never produced a horizontally opposed engine, all the NSX's have had V6's. Some of the most impressive HP per Liter engine's ever before the S2000 came out (IIRC).

Nick.
