It just looks like the Versa to me; especially from the rear profile.

I would take the Swift Sport over the Fit Sport any day if it was available in the US. It is definitely the most serious attempt at a subcompact sports sedan of all the manufacturers making a car in this class. 1.6L VVT DOHC making about 125hp in a 2300lb body, not bad at all for a car in this class. Its a shame we dont have this car. And to top off this package, all this for under $14k, the Fit Sport is going to be over $15k and is nowhere near as sporty as this Swift.

Yes this would be a killer car for NA - only downfall might be the mpg issue.
We had an old Swift GTI and it was toooo fun :D

I know they are going to offer the Fit Sport in North America, but I don't think they are trying to fool anyone into thinking it is all that sporty. It's sporty, but to a point. If you want a Honda (reliable engineering), a hatchback with BOO-KOOs of room inside, and decent fuel mileage, you have a winner with the Fit/Jazz.

Ups and downs to everything.

About time, Honda has lost the low priced market over the years. In Canada we are getting the DX trim level. Just like the 90's with the Civic DX hatch, when Honda owned the low priced market.

Spoon has proven that the Fit/Jazz platform can very much be sporty without much improvement to the stock chassis but the presentation from the Honda Factory shows that Honda isnt really out to capture the sporty b-segment market if there even is one like the Swift Sport seems to be doing.

But I am one who loves a sporty car no matter what segment of the market it is in so if the Swift Sport and Fit Sport were both selling side by side in the US market, I would take the Swift Sport without thinking twice about it but hey thats just me.

Nuff said.

I agree, people want different things for diffent reasons. Honda sells their cars to be cars. People buy them and do lots of unintended things with them, like racing, autocross, etc. Not that they shouldn't be used for those purposes, but the car was not designed specifically for it.

Sporty? I say yes. Could be sportier? Without a doubt.

Enjoy yours...

Suzuki Swift

Hey there guys.....I contacted Suzuki earlier this year....around February and inquired about the Swift. I specifically asked whether there were plans to bring the Swift to Canada in response to the upcoming Honda Fit. At that time I got a rousing "no way, nota chance in hell" response from Suzuki - in kinder gentler words of course....

Anyway, is it a sure thing the Suzuki will bring the Swift here??? I'd be really interested at the Sport model.....The Fit is more useful in size but I like the size of the Swift better....ya I know, the back looks like the Nissan Versa's ass but the rest of the car looks decent....except the recaro seats...kinda useless in form and function(just my opinion).....

Anyone know anything more about whether it'll make our shores????

Metaxadude......

I think the swift is ugly myself, and the swift sport has nothing to offer but the nice interior seats and the increased in hp compared to the fit. I would take a fit over 10 of those ( or take the 10 and sell them for more fits or to buy some Mugen parts)

Kinda of reminds of a Clio. Sort of. I've always wanted a Clio.

I saw one in person in the Philippines and liked it. Looks very sporty in my opinion, hope it drives how it looks. If so i'll be all over it.
