Ex-EP3 Owners check in!
I'm considering parting out/selling the Fit for an EP3
they aren't hard to find with decent miles w/ warranty
it's cheaper on the wallet too seeing as they're around 10-12k used.
what made you guys switch from EP3
how is it as a DD?
is 200whp possible with k20a2 head swap and kpro tune?
chime in with your inputs....
thanks

Hi! :]
I didn't own an ep3, but my bf had one for a while. As a DD, it guess you can say it's pretty good. He got about 30+ mpg without having to suffer so much in power. I'm not sure why but he really didn't like the car LOL. He ended up selling it for the 2000 si, and seems satisfied.
EDIT: Just a thought, I really didn't like where the shifter was placed. I thought it was kind of awkward. :P
Hope this help :]

yeah that shifter placement is weird. Can't shift with your elbow resting...just like the Element. Ah well. I was never interested, for some reason it's like I never gave 2 shits about the Civic generation between 2001-2004. lol

Former EP3 owner
Hey there!
I'm a former EP3 owner. I had a 2003 and previous to that I had a Toyota Matrix.
As soon as I got the car, I started modding. You can see the results here:
KS EP3 2003
I added a Greddy turbo kit, custom JDM exhaust and a bunch of other JDM stuff before I sold it and got a Toyota Prius. I loved the car but it was a cop magnet (although the police say they don't do profiling they do.) and I was getting too old to be getting pulled over just because I had a nice import car.
After 3 years with the Prius, I wanted a car with a bit more room and a little more fun to drive. I do miss the Prius gas milage but thats about it. 2009 Fit is fun!
Yes, I think if you swap heads and get kpro tune / hondata you might be able to get 200whp. The Greddy turbo was fun, but without the Hondata, there was no way to make it run perfectly. The car was my daily driver and with boost it was a monster. K-series engine has a lot of possibilities if you throw a lot of money at it.
I loved the shifter position. I looks weird but it was very natural to shift at that position.

You can't just swap the head. I've owned an EP and swapped a few. The A3 is good for boost, there are a few nicely modified ones for sale on ephatch.com. Go read up on them. What I didn't like was the suspension, I don't think they handle that well. The shifter is easy to get used to but the body roll and awkward center of gravity didn't do it for me. Also, in the stock form the lacking power blows, but a six speed trans does wonders.
thanks guys for the replies
can you give me more information about the suspension?
i mean i'm sure a nice set of coils, roll center adjusters, and a good alignment could fix that.
and is there a diy on the 6sp tranny? is it a RSX-S tranny that just bolts right up?
so head swap (k20a2) k-pro, some bolt ons and nice tune would get me some decent power? other option is stock motor and greddy turbo?
thanks,
-Ricky
