Ressurection of an S2000
Ressurection of an S2000
Detailed: Destroyed Black S2000
Taken from SupraForums:
Hey guys, I know its not a supra but I figured you guys still might appreciate it (were all car nuts aren't we?) I had the car for 3 days to work on, it was completely destroyed on the outside and was the 510th s2000 made to ever cross the Pacific and into the U.S. The car was just purchased and the new owner was looking to revitalize the paint. He informed me that the previous owner only waxed the car once.
The carpets were foamed and shampooed, and all the plastics, rubber, and vinyl were cleaned conditioned and protected. The headlamps were also wetsanded since they had heavy pit marks from almost 8 years of daily driving abuse. The convertible top was cleaned and protected as well. The engine bay received a quick wipe down. The car went through 2-3 stages of polishing and 2 coats of my winter select wax to protect it from mother natures elements.
Upon closer inspection, the car had everything from scrapes, key marks, attempted buff marks, and heavy induced swirls. The cf hood was severely scarred and weathered and needed a full wetsand/buff job to restore the glimmer and shine. The paint on this s2000 was VERY dull, almost grey in color because of all the swirl marks. This car was a definite test for my skills, Ill let the pics do the talking.

We've got a guy in Memphis named Joe Christian who performs miracles just like this!
Here is my 2005 Nissan Altima 3.5SE. I was about to trade it in and wanted it perfect. I ended up getting $1500 more than I owed on it, trading it in to the dealership!! The car sat on the lot for 2 days before they sold it for top dollar. Getting someone to restore a car like this is worth literally thousands of dollars. I think I spent right at $300 for this job.

Before:

Deep scratches in the door…

Full shot (sorry the hood is popped)

These shots are after being detailed. He even put the adhesive floor mats in so that I it looked real professional.

Here's a shot of the scratches after being touched up. He applied about 25 thin layers of touch up paint, then sanded, buffed, and finally sealed the area. They are improved, which is typically all you can hope for scratches of this depth...

Forgot the name.
Just exterior? My guess, $300-$500.
I have a friend that did work like that for STUPID cheap. Under $100.
Light interior clean, exterior wash, and 4 stage wax.
