Anyone else in love with the new Insight?
other than the mechanics, i was the first to drive it when it showed up at the dealership. i love this car! very well behaved and it's actually pretty peppy for being a hybrid!

I like it!
I test-drove it about 2 weeks ago.
It's funny, but my original plan was to replace my GD3 with the Insight, but I couldn't wait and bought the GE8 in December. Now I really wish I'd waited!
I was disappointed that Honda couldn't hit their original price target (~$18k), but with the economy what it is and the yen-dollar exchange rate I see why.
I love the car's looks and handling and electronic gadgetry.
The 40/43 EPA rating is very deceptive. It seems that all Hondas exceed their EPA rating by a good margin. Most Toyotas barely make them. There have already been comparo drives of the 2010 Insight vs the 2010 Prius and the mpg difference is tiny (1-3 mpg!).
I drove the 2009 Prius about 4 weeks ago and although it is a well-made car and accomplishes great fuel economy, it is a mushy feeling slug to drive and very typical of most Toyotas.
I may only keep my current Fit a couple years and then move to the Insight. I'll just have to keep an eye on things.

I saw one a few weeks ago in that light blue pearl; looked pretty dang nice. The interior (I wasn't able to get in) looked nice, and it was cool seeing one before they started to sell it.

I like it, but it does look like the prius (not a bad thing). I really thought the old insight body was fun. It had a cheesy "future" look to it. Looking at the pics in Tofuman's post regarding either the insight or the prius, is the rear view affected by the hatch?

Huh. I like those rims, myself. I've been royally ticked because they're 5-lug and the Fit is 4-lug. I do like the new Insight's wheels, though, and they'll fit the Fit.
Went down to the dealership to pick up a trunk full of parts yesterday (I hit a truck tire tread) and got my first IRL look at the Insight. When I saw the pictures, I didn't like it at all, but the car looks a whole lot better in person. The Tango Red Pearl color is quite tasty. Whoever thought up the name 'Polished Metal Metallic' deserves a kick in the pants, though. It's really more of a 'Gunmetal' color and looks pretty decent.
Oddly enough, they had TWO of the old Insights on the lot. I think they were both in for service, though. :(
Mileage: The 40/43 is on the engine ONLY. It does not take into account any use of the battery. With IMA and the "Eco-Assist", it's something like 51 mpg.

if you liked the civic hybrid wheels, the new Fit LX comes with that exact rim in Canada, you can always order them :)

superb!
When I was getting the fit's oil changed I saw one on the showroom floor. VERY nice! I didn't drive it but it seemed very traditionally Honda. Nothing weird or strange. The dashboard was pretty out there while still not being strange. The hatchback seemed quite usable while still not as good as the magic seats from the fit. An article from cleanmpg said that Honda had sold less than 3000 in the first month and the salesman I talked to said that MSRP was the selling price. It's a buyer's market. I sat in the EX (21K) and the interior was luxurious far beyond the fit. They may have to wait until after the recession lets up but Honda's got a winner here. It's far superior to the Prius.
