I bought a 89 Accord - what should I do with it?

^good point on the ae86s and what not, but in all honestly, how many ppl actually race those accords. do you really think there's potential in those accords?
for the ae86s and what not, the chassis has potential, most of them are RWD, sport orientated...but the accord was not meant for that.
obviously thats just my opinion. but i do understand what youre saying about the ae86s, 240s, etc. but in my view, its not worth it for a 21 year old accord

I'm def selling the Mustang. It reminds me why I don't like domestics (heavy and bad on gas and handle like boats).
I'm def gonna fix the Accord to make it daily drivable. After that is anyone's guess. Also, I'm not sure I agree on the potential of the chassis. They come equipped with rear disc brakes, factory sway bars, and double wishbone suspension (instead of the archaic Macphearson system). By those standards, one could argue that it would take to moddifying BETTER than the Fit. I'm just playing devils advocate there. AND it'll hold a B or H series easier than a Fit will take a K series.
I don't think THIS Accord has any hope for modding since I would first need to convert it from carb'd to fuel injected. But a CA5 Accord SE-i is what I'm interested in. Fuel injected, double wishbone suspension, front and rear sway bars, and rear disc brakes.

Hi! I think you should fix up the Accord as a "backup" car for the Fit. Check out the picture of my '89, 189,000 miles! :)

After a few weeks of hassle, I finally got it titled and legal. At first I thought it was just gonna have to go to the impound because the DMV wouldn't issue me a title cuz the prev owner never did. But a license and title office was like "this is all we have to do" and 15 minutes later, it was all clear.

I finally got this thing titled, so the restore has started this weekend. Picked up two turn signal housings for the front, and a valve cover gasket. Needs a new battery though :(

Ok so I haven't been on here in a while as I haven't had any money to do anything to the Fit. But I still have this Accord. I've made some strides. Fixed the exhaust (from header back), replaced the fender, four new tires and steelies with EK hubcaps, stripped and cleaned the interior (after these pics were taken), installed a set of OEM splash guards, replace brake master cylinder, upper control arm and ball joint.
I now have the clutch, pressure plate, and two axles ready to go in. Going this weekend to strip a junkyard car with a MINT black interior. Also have a set of BA5 Prelude seats and steering wheel to install.

Cool build. I now own 2 toyota previas one is in crap condition and has 190k miles cost me $450 runs good. The other one i just bought is in 8 out of 10 condtion inside and out. It has 234k miles payed $1100 for it. And today the one with 234k miles broke down i think its something with the fuel pump and starter taking it to the car shop to have them look at it. So this kind of reminds me of what i am doing slowly but surely fixing my beaters up

Well, this thing went to the junk yard yesterday. :( I was taking to a guy's house to change the clutch and fix everything that was wrong with it, and about 8 miles from my house the transmission crapped out, and something happened to the cooling system. :( I all of a sudden had no gears, heard a loud pop. Smoke everywhere. I pulled over and it wouldn't even go into gear and there was no coolant in the radiator. After trying to get it home, I had to tow it. I went back out and started it up the next morning and it would grind in every gear and then pop out. I no longer have the money to spend on a new trans and then hunting down the coolant problem (even if it's as simple as a new radiator, I was already at my budget's end). So I parted out what I had, took parts back to the store and sent it to the junk yard. Netted back about $400. =/ Sad to see it go, but it needed so much work still and I need a second car running. Needed new trans, new windshield, an alignment, and even after having the new brake master cylinder put on, the pads changed and the whole system flushed, the brakes STILL went to the floor. =/
