Chevy fights back. The new Aveo
I can't find any hp numbers for the 1.4L turbo powerplant. All I could find is the base numbers for the non turbo version of the engine:
The show car has the same 138-horsepower, 1.4-litre four-cylinder engine as the compact Chevrolet Cruze, which goes on sale later this year and gets 40 miles per gallon (17 kilometres per litre). That's more pep than the Aveo's current 108-horsepower engine.
well if i remember correctly... if theyre offering the same engines as the cruze (which i think theyre replacing the cobalt with)
the 138hp is the 1.4L Turbo...

Power comes from a 1.4-liter, 138-hp turbocharged four-cylinder--which will also be available on the Chevy Cruze--mated to a six-speed manual transmission for driving enthusiasts.

doesn't it still make it a Daewoo? they have to get the
specs/info/parts from somewhere.
to me it will always be a Daewoo.
so what are the VW's now since they are maid in Mexico?
Rumor is that the concept shown above is about 80% production ready. I think the wheels and lights (front and back) will become a bit more generic (i.e. Halogens w/o halos), but expect the same aggressively styled front end and interior. It's definitely a better Aveo than the previous model which was a multi-company, watered down POS. But I'd still be more inclined to go with a Fiesta or Mazda 2. IMHO, the Fiesta will bump the Fit off the top of the best compact car in NA when it arrives in a few months. Now if we could only get them to bring over the Euro spec Focus RS...
