That Type R is so well kept for being 12 years old.

^^^ It should as it was virtually garage kept at some Acura training facility and has never been registered for road use until the time that article was made.

Beautiful car. That's my all-time favorite Honda. And I totally agree with the author with respect to the increasing isolation from the driving experience that our most modern vehicles create. I for one wish the whole "fly-by-wire" go pedal was never invented!

Or maybe they could attach a cable to the pedal that..... nah, that's crazy! :)

Good find indeed.

Honda seems to be lost these days...almost every one of their sporty cars is gone. All that remain are the FD2 Civic Type R and FN2 Civic Type R EURO. I'd hate to think that they've done a Toyota and excised all trace of driver excitement from their cars.

i think a fair comparison would be the ek body civic SI and the current gen civic SI coupe, the differences between a type R and an SI is the same as hamburger and fillet mignon. at the very least, dc2 itr vs da9 itr and ek9 ctr vs fa5 ctr.. great read though

Even though I don't own a Type R, I'm still proud to be an owner of a DC2.
